 On this Superfecta Sunday we take in a Turf mile at the "Great Race Place".

Santa Anita Park Race 9 {1 mile~TURF~4 / 5 year-old~Maiden Special Weight}

A nicely bred group of ten who have yet to break their maiden.

There is enough speedy and forwardly placed types in this race to give it some decent pace. Speed numbers are very close. Interestingly, three of the group will race as geldings for the first time. Three will race over the Santa Anita course for the first time and one will stretch out to this distance. It should be a fine race to conclude the horse racing weekend.

#5 Petcoff (Torrealba / Yakteen) loves the surface, distance, and course. He should contend while tracking the pace closely. Three strong peaking workouts adds to his luster. A newly gelded son of Munnings, he is 57% in the money from seven career starts.

#4 Sea of Cortez [IRE] (Pereira / D'Amato) has hit the board at this distance. He earned a good last out speed number at a longer route and has put in three robust workouts. Look for him to track and close into a swift pace. A son of Caravaggio, he is 33% in the money from three starts.
