Premiere Track Thursday

For the start of our horse racing weekend we look at races at two of the premiere tracks in the country; Saratoga and Del Mar.

Saratoga Race 9 {Riskaverse~Div. II~1 mile~inner Turf~3 year old~fillies~Stakes}
This part two of the Riskaverse with the first division being run in race four.  A very nice field of ten will run.  Queen of the Creek (Leparoux / Proctor) holds an edge over this talented group with the second highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and three athletic, peaking workouts.  Khancord Kid (Maragh / Kimmel) will challenge with the third highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and two stout, peaking workouts.  Sea Road (C. Velasquez / Hough) looks ready to have a good run at it with the fourth highest (tie) last out speed number, a two race progression, and two strong, peaking workouts.  Lisa's Booby Trap (Desormeaux / Snyder) will be the speed of the race with the highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and two hearty workouts.  Marseria [ITY] (Valdivia / Toner) should be the surprise of the group with two first place finishes in her native Italy.  Her workout tab was a solid three of a peaking nature.  Let's play "The Spa".

$1 WIN / SHOW:  #7 Queen of the Creek.
$1 PLACE / SHOW:  #5 Khancord Kid.
10 CENT Superfecta:  #7 Queen of the Creek / #5 Khancord Kid / #4 Doe Run / #2 Lisa's Booby Trap, #9 Marseria [ITY].

Del Mar Race 2 {1 mile~Turf~3 year old Up~Allowance}
A decent field of eight will go to the gate.  The coupled entry of Greely's Ghost (Bejarano / Gaines) and No Stadium (Valenzuela / Gaines) looks very tough with Greely's Ghost the stronger of the two entrants.  Greely's Ghost should be the one to notch a victory with the highest speed number at the distance and two robust workouts.  Oak Kye Why (Espinosa / Cassidy) looks ready to compete at this distance with the second highest last out speed number and four well-built, peaking workouts.  Camicory (M. Garcia / Mullins) looks ready to compete well with the fourth highest last out speed number, a four race progression, and three terrific, peaking workouts.  Dana Dynamo (Quinonez / Headley) looks very well prepped with a couple of decent last out speed numbers, a three race progression, and four ferocious, peaking workouts.  Let's play Del Mar.

$2 WIN:  #1A Greely's Ghost.
$2 SHOW:  #2 Oak Kye Why.
10 CENT Superfecta:  #1A Greely's Ghost / #2 Oak Kye Why / #7 Camicory / #3 Dana Dynamo.
