Turf ?? Battle at Belmont

Today we look at what could be a nice Turf battle at Belmont Park.  Though with 40 percent chance of showers it is likely to go off on the main track.

Belmont Park Race 9 {Ashley Cole~1 1/8 mile~inner Turf~3 year old Up~Stakes}
With rain in the forecast this one may go to the dirt track.  The better horses of the group are scheduled to the main track.  We will look at the race from a Turf perspective and a main track perspective.

Turf
A field of seven will line up should it stay on the Turf.  Gimme Credit (Castellano / Brown) looks ready to conquer the field with the second highest last out speed number and three solid workouts.  Pocket Cowboys (Prado / Schwartz) will provide a pressing attack with the third highest last out speed number, a six race progression, and the second best speed number at the distance.  Writingonthewall (Lezcano / Martin) will be the speed with the fourth highest last out speed number, a four race progression, and one peaking workout.  Spa City Fever (Chavez / P. Kelly) will compete for a piece of the purse with the third highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and three hearty, peaking workouts.  Uncle T. Seven (Leparoux / Kimmel) will also be in the hunt for a piece with a decent last out speed number at a sprint and one strong workout.  Let's play the Turf at Belmont Park.

$1 WIN / SHOW:  #3 Gimme Credit.
$2 SHOW:  #5 Pocket Cowboys.
10 CENT Superfecta:  #3 Gimme Credit / #5 Pocket Cowboys / #6 Writingonthewall / #1 Spa City Fever, #7 Uncle T. Seven.

DIRT
Should the race go off on the main track the field may experience a decrease in size.  Haynesfield (Dominguez / Asmussen) will be the one to beat with the fourth highest last out speed number and three robust, peaking workouts.  He also holds the highest speed number, a triple digit, at the distance.  Manteca (J. Velazquez / Pletcher) will challenge with the highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and three stellar workouts.  Writingonthewall (Lezcano / Martin) could be the surprise on the dirt if not scratched for the reasons above and he is 100% in the money on a fast track.  Giant Moon (Prado / Schosberg) will be ready to compete well with fourth highest last out speed number and four aggressive, peaking workouts.  Let's play this Belmont Park race on the dirt.

$2 WIN:  #8 Haynesfield.
$1 PLACE / SHOW:  #10 Manteca.
$2 SHOW:  #6 Writingonthewall.
10 CENT Superfecta:  #8 Haynesfield / #10 Manteca / #6 Writingonthewall, #9 Giant Moon / #6, #9.
