Black Friday at Churchill Downs

While others enjoy their "Black Friday" shopping, we turn our attention to a superb grade one race at Churchill Downs as it nears the close of its fall meet.

Churchill Downs Race 11 {Clark Handicap~G1~1 1/8 mile~3 year old Up~Stakes}
A super quality field of eleven racers will make the start in this annual contest.  Successful Dan (Leparoux / Lopresti) has a slight edge with the highest (tie) last out speed number, a four race progression, and two fantastic workouts.  He also has two wins in two tries over the Churchill track.  Regal Ransom (Lenclud / bin Suroor) will be the speed with a good break out of the gate.  He has three wins in four tries at this exact distance as well as the highest speed number at the distance.  Regal Ransom also has put in a tremendous three workout tab in preparation for this race.  Redding Colliery (Napravnik / McLaughlin) will also show speed at the front end with the other highest last out speed number and three strong, peaking workouts.  Apart (Gomez / Stall) can be expected to challenge with the second highest last out speed number, a seven race progression in as many career starts, and two decent workouts.  Giant Oak (Bridgmohan / Block) may be the surprise seeking some black type before he is brought into the breeding shed.  Giant Oak is coming off an additional furlong route and has put in three dynamic, peaking workouts readying for this race. Jockey,  Shaun Bridgmohan has rode this big guy to some of his best performances. Let's play the world's greatest race track, Churchill Downs.
