Good luck to all those participating in the Westpoint Thoroughbreds / NTRA online handicapping contest today. It looks like an exceptional line-up of races at Aqueduct, Churchill Downs, and Hollywood Park. A wonderfully crafted card of ten races. Details may be found at ntra.com.
Today we look at one of those races at Aqueduct, the grade one Gazelle for three year old fillies. It should be a great race.
Aqueduct Race 8 {Gazelle~G1~1 1/8 mile~3 year old~fillies~Stakes}
A solid group of eight three year old gals are expected to start in this grade one race. No Such Word (Thompson / C. Jones) seems to be well suited for the win with the second highest last out speed number, the most overall wins, and three strengthening workouts. Belle of the Hall (Cohen / Albertrani) looks exceptionally prepared with the highest last out speed number at a sprint, a two race progression, and three athletic workouts. Expect her to challenge. Awesome Maria (J. Velazquez / Pletcher) looks ready to challenge as well coming off a Turf race at the same distance and two robust workouts. Quiet Temper (Castellano / Romans) will be in the mix coming off an extended layoff with four tremendous workouts. Let's have fun with a race at the "Big A", Aqueduct.
$2 SHOW: #8 No Such Word.
$2 SHOW: #2 Belle of the Hall.
10 CENT Superfecta: #8 No Such Word / #2 Belle of the Hall / #1 Awesome Maria / #3 Quiet Temper.
