Thursday Hollywood Allowance

To start out horse racing weekend we take a look at an excellent allowance race in sunny Southern California.

Betfair Hollywood Park Race 7 {1 1/8 mile~3 year old~Allowance}
A great group of seven 3-year old colts will enter the gate in this allowance feature.  There is little or no speed, but a number that could press the pace.  All in here have relatively comparable speed numbers.  Three were nominated to the Triple Crown.  It should be a boffo exciting race.

#5 Fighting Hussar (Espinoza / Palma) might have an edge with the third highest last out speed number, the highest speed number at the distance, a four race progression, and three tough peaking workouts.  This guy could be forwardly placed and fight on to the finish.
$2 SHOW.

#1 Belvin (Talamo / Baffert) could show enough speed to wire this field.  He holds the highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and two robust peaking workouts.  He will be stretching out in distance, but should handle it well.
$2 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#6 Little Jerry (Baze / Baltas) should challenge coming off a Turf race at this distance with a respectable speed number.  He has put in four fiery peaking workouts and has notched a win over this synthetic surface.  This colt has a versatile running style that should keep him in this race.

#7 Curly Top (M. Garcia / Baffert) could contend coming off a layoff.  He has posted a couple of decent last out speed numbers, is working a two race progression, and has put in four sturdy workouts.  This guy is one of many in here that has done well over the Hollywood cushion.

10 CENT Superfecta

#5 Fighting Hussar / #1 Belvin / #6 Little Jerry / #7 Curly Top.

Last Superfecta Sunday Results
Belmont Park R8.  Allowance.  Our 10 CENT Superfecta box effort fell flat containing only two of the four necessary finishers.  Superfecta went 5-4-1-11.
Our Bronze Horseshoe runner, Comandante, finished 8th.
Bankroll takes a tumble to $36.75.
