A great Stakes Saturday on this Labor Day weekend. Today we take in a graded one at the Spa.
Saratoga Race 11 {Woodward~G1~1 1/8 mile~3 year old Up~Graded Stakes}
A great crew of ten will take to the Saratoga dirt in this annual affair. There is one great speedster and a few that should be forwardly placed. Consequently, there should be sufficient pace. Four millionaires are in the field and should have every chance of strutting in the winners circle again. It should be a great race.
#2 Itsmyluckyday (Lopez / Plesa) could turn the tables on the Whitney winner in his last out which he shows the second highest last out speed number. This lad is working a three race progression and has put in two good workouts. A son of Lawyer Ron, he should be close to the pace ready to strike in the stretch.
$1 WIN / $2 PLACE / $3 SHOW.
#4 Moreno (Alvarado / Guillot) could dictate terms of the race on the front end. He holds the highest last out speed number for which he won the Whitney. This speedster also has a three race progression and one serious bullet workout. This son of Ghostzapper loves the Saratoga course.
$1 PLACE / $2 SHOW.
#7 Norumbega (Castellano / McGaughey) could surprise with a couple of solid last out speed numbers and three fantastic workouts. He is coming off a longer route and is 83% in the money at this distance from six starts. This son of Tiznow should close swiftly into a strong pace.
$1 SHOW.
Another Wagering Interest
#3 Micromanage (Maragh / Pletcher) will be in contention with the third highest last out speed number at a longer route, a two race progression, and three robust workouts. This son of Medaglia d'Oro should be able to track and close in a vigorous manner. He has already notched two wins over the Saratoga course in two starts.
