Tune Up before the MILLION

It is the Friday before MILLION day.

The Arlington Million will be run, tomorrow, Saturday (8/16). Looking at the undercard it will be a phenomenal day of handicapping, wagering, and racing.

Today we make a little tune-up by examining a nice Turf mile.

A good line-up of seven will go to the grass in this early afternoon feature. There is a great deal of speed and forwardly placed types that could create a barn burner of a race. These gals are closely aligned in their speed numbers.  It could be an unpredictable race.

#3 Royal Alluvial (Baird / Catalano) could run off with the highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and two robust workouts. She should be part of the front running pack ready to breakaway going into the stretch.

#1 Paschendale (Homeister / Domenosky) should challenge with the third highest last out speed number at a longer route. She holds a good in the money record of 63% over the surface from eleven starts. This gal will also be part of the front running pack.

Other Wagering Interests

#7 Suspended Moon (Thornton / Reavis) should be in the hunt with a couple of decent last out speed numbers and one endurance producing workout.  She holds the second highest (tie) speed number at the distance. This gal will be closing swiftly.

#5 Dani Nikki (Sanjur / Poulos) will be in the mix with the second highest last out speed number at a longer route and a two race progression.  She has the tactical speed to allow the race to develop and take every advantage of it.

Saratoga R4.  Saratoga Dew Stakes.  Our first pick, Tahoe Tigress, finished 7th (last).  Our second pick, Get Gorgeous, finished 3rd for show money of $2.80.  Our third pick, Easy Living, finished 5th.
