Stakes Saturday at Lovely Keeneland

On this Stakes Saturday we take in a good route race over the Kentucky dirt.

A nice field of eight will hit the dirt in this annual graded stakes race. There will be pace so it could be anybody's race. All of these in here have had moments of triumph and all are decent form. The horse that is fully prepped to race on this day should come out ahead.

#7 Long River (Napravnik / McLaughlin) could have the advantage with the highest last out speed number at a longer route, a two race progression, and one solid workout. This son of A.P. Indy should track the pace and launch into the stretch. He shows the highest speed number at the distance as well.

#2 Departing (Albarado / Stall) should challenge with the second highest speed number, a two race progression, and two diligent workouts. This son of War Front is one that could be tracking and ready to close mightily. He holds the second highest speed number at the distance.

#3 Sephanoatsee (Leparoux / Zito) will contend with the fourth highest last out speed number at a longer route and two robust workouts. This other son of A.P. Indy is another closing type seeking an honest pace. He holds the third highest speed number at the distance.

Another Wagering Interest

#8 Code West (Bridgmohan / Caster) could surprise with a couple of good last out speed numbers and three superb workouts. This son of Lemon Drop Kid is coming off a brief freshening and should be forwardly place to get first jump on the field.

Laurel Park R8.  Our first pick, Christmas Barn, finished 5th.  Our second pick, One Massive Cat, finished 2nd for show money of $3.20.
Superfecta went 8-4-7-1.
