On this Stakes Saturday we look at a nice Turf race up North of the Border.
Woodbine Race 8 {Overskate Stakes~7 1/2 furlongs~TURF~3 year-old Up~Ontario Bred~Stakes}
An excellent field of ten will hit the grass in this Canadian Turf stakes.
Past Performances used: TimeFormUS.
This talented field of Ontario sired includes a couple of ladies that will show great effort against the lads. There is a couple of speedsters to create some pace. Speed numbers are fairly close. As the weather turns more frigid up North it should make for an very interesting race on the green. It will be a very good race.
#7 Not So Quiet (R. Hernandez / M. Casse) should go off as the favorite with the second highest (3-way tie) last out speed number with a win in that race. This guy loves the surface and the Woodbine inner course. He will be part of the pace scenario and could wire the field. A son of Silent Name [JPN], he is 54% in the money from eleven career starts.
$1 WIN / $2 PLACE / $3 SHOW.
#1 Royal Laser (Stein / S. Attard) should challenge with the highest last out speed number at a longer route and one solid workout. This guy comes into it on a two race win streak. He is most experienced at this distance having hit the board twice in three tries. He should take up a nice tracking position. A son of Giant Gizmo, he is 53% in the money from twenty-six career starts.
$1 PLACE / $2 SHOW.
#8 Eskiminzin (Moran / Grant) should contend sharing the second highest last out speed number and putting in two hearty peaking workouts. This horse is another that will track the pace ready to strike. A son of Cold Harbor, he is successful at the distance and over the course.
$1 SHOW.
#6 Red Cabernet (Bahen / Black) should show continued improvement having won her last with the fourth highest (tie) last out speed number at a route and putting in two sound workouts. This mare also shows the highest (tie) speed number at the distance. She is another tracking who will seek positioning for the stretch run. A daughter of Signature Red, she will be gunning for these boys.
