Are You Ready for a Turf Derby?

To close our horse racing weekend we move across the country to Del Mar to take a look at what appears will be a dramatic Turf Derby.

Del Mar Race 8 {Del Mar Derby~G2~1 1/8 mile~Turf~3 year old~Stakes}
Another awesome field of nine Turfers will make the start in this one.  There is a little bit of pace in here, but for the most part it will be a tactically run race.

#7 Banned (Gomez / Proctor) appears to be head and shoulders above the rest with the highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and two strong workouts.  He appears ready to close down this field.
$2 SHOW.

#5 Cloud Man (Talamo / Shirreffs) looks primed to make a significant challenge for the win.  He has the second highest last out speed number, a four race progression, and three hearty workouts.  He could make a nice pressing attack.
$2 SHOW.

#4 Extensive (M. Garcia / Cerin) is well prepped to make a solid run with the third highest last out speed number, an eight race progression, and two robust workouts.  He could find himself closing swiftly in the stretch.
$2 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#1 Midnight Interlude (Bejarano / Baffert) looks ready to take off on the Turf with the second highest speed number at this distance, albeit on dirt, and three stamina strengthening workouts.  He could surprise.

#6 Dreamy Kid (Rosario / Drysdale) looks good enough to compete well with this group showing the third highest speed number at the distance on synthetic and three endurance inducing workouts.  Another one that could run a big race.
