Downhill Turf Friday

Lovely Santa Anita opens its Fall meet today and we take a peek at an exciting downhill Turf sprint as part of our horse racing weekend enjoyment.

A small field of six speedy gals will make the start.  All appear to be well prepped with some serious workouts.  This should be a grand Turf race.

#2 Unzip Me (Bejarano / Jones) will be the speed of the race attempting to grap her thirteenth victory.  She holds the highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and three hearty workouts.  She has the speed to take it to the wire.

#3 Broken Dreams (Gomez / Proctor) will challenge with the second highest (tie) last out speed number and four superlative, peaking workouts.  She looks to track the pace and stirke in the stretch.

#4 Tanda (Talamo / Mitchell) will also be in the hunt pressing the pace.  She shares the second highest last out speed number, has a four race progression, and three robust workouts going into this race.

#1 Waveline (Espinoza / Cecil) looks ready to make a great run today with the third highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and three solid workouts.  She could surprise.

Presque Isle Downs R6.  Our first pick, Kiss for Dodie, won (1st) for show money of $2.60.  Our second pick, Real Peace, finished 6th.  Our third pick, Closing Bid, finished 3rd for show money of $3.40.
