After a pleasurable Independence Day we get back to the horse racing action. On this hot July Thursday we take a peek at a New York allowance race at bountiful Belmont Park.
Belmont Park Race 7 {1 mile~3 year old Up~NY~Allowance}
A superb field of ten will make this dirt start on the Belmont oval. There is enough pace in this one to give those coming from off the pace a excellent chance of hitting the wire first.
#1 Stonecoldsteamer (Castellano / R. Dutrow) appears ready to run the best race with the second highest (tie) last out speed number and four robust, peaking workouts. He also holds the second highest (tie) speed number at the distance. He could be the speedster that saves ground from the inside post and strides to victory.
$1 WIN / $2 SHOW.
#3 Saxophone Len (Lezcano / Hushion) should finish well with the highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and two athletic workouts. He holds the third highest speed number at the distance. A fast pace could benefit his tracking style.
$1 PLACE / $1 SHOW.
#6 Quiet Power (Napravnik / Bush) holds the highest speed number at the distance. He could be able to stay close to the leaders with his pressing style. He has a couple of o.k. last out speed numbers and a modest workout.
$1 SHOW.
Other Wagering Interests
#8 Wishingonastar (W. Garcia / Barker) could surprise with a couple of decent last out speed numbers and three strong workouts. He shares the second highest speed number at the distance. Running back to that performance could put him in the money.
#10 Piscesbymoonlight (Dominguez / B. Brown) is coming off an extended layoff, but may need this race. Prior to the layoff his last out speed number meets the highest. He was working a four race progression and has put in three prime peaking workouts. He is a speedster that needs a clean break.
10 CENT Superfecta
#1 Stonecoldsteamer / #3 Saxophone Len / #6 Quiet Power / #8 Wishingonastar, #10 Piscesbymoonlight.
Last Superfecta Sunday (7/1) Results
Betfair Hollywood Park R2. Allowance. We misfired on our 10 CENT Superfecta box. Our Bronze Horseshoe runner, Thisismystage, also failed to hit the board, finishing 4th.
Bankroll takes a dive to $30.65.
