To start off our Horse Racing weekend we take in a superb Stakes Sprint up at Saratoga Springs, New York.

A tried and true group of ten will go to the gate in this annual affair. There is a ton of speed in this one that could produce a hot pace. Speed numbers are all fairly close. It should be an exciting race from start to finish.

#10 Tricky Zippy (J. Velazquez / Jerkens) could have the advantage with the second highest speed number, a three race progression, and two sound workouts. She should take up a position close to the leaders ready to spring into the stretch. This gal has already secured a victory at the distance in one try.

#9 Sister Margaret (Castellano / Gullo) will be making her second start this year after an o.k. performance last out. She holds the fourth highest speed number at the distance having raced in the money at it. She should be tracking the pace seeking to score.

#7 Willet (Rosario / Iselin) is coming into this race after an extended layoff. She shares the highest speed number at the distance. This gal is 80% in the money from five starts. Look for her to track and close into a heated pace.

#1 Prairie Stone (Arroyo / Barrera) could surprise as she comes into this one off a longer sprint coupled with three sharp peaking workouts. This gal has been in the money her last two starts earning decent speed figs. She should take up a position close to the pace and should streak into the stretch.
