Stakes Saturday at Saratoga

A wonderful Stakes Saturday of racing from across the country. Today we look toward the "Spa" for a fabulous Turf race.

Saratoga Race 9 {Bowling Green~G2~1 3/8 mile~ inner TURF~4 year old Up~Graded Stakes}

A highly regarded group of nine will take to the green in this annual contest. There is plenty of speed to the outside and a number of closers to the outside which should make for a fine start. Most in this one have gone this distance or greater. Speed numbers are fairly close with a number of entrants scoring triple digits. Expect the most exciting race on the Saratoga card.

#7 Innovation Economy (I. Ortiz / C. Brown) looks for his third win in a row and he may capture it. With the fourth highest last out speed number at a monster route, a six race progression, and three superb workouts, it is his race to win.  This son of Dynaformer will be running late into a sound pace.
$1 WIN  /  $2 PLACE  /  $3 SHOW.

#1 Red Rifle  (Castellano / Pletcher) should challenge with his immense speed. This lad holds the highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and two hearty workouts. A son of Giant's Causeway, he will be stretching out to this distance which should not be a problem.
$1 PLACE  /  $2 SHOW.

#4 Iron Power (J. Ortiz / Clement) should contend with a couple of very good last out speed numbers, a two race progression, and one robust workout. He should show speed and try to steal this one.  A son of Mizzen Mast, he has already secured a victory at this distance in his only try.
$1 SHOW.

Another Wagering Interest

#2 War Dancer (Lezcano / Mott) should be in contention with the third highest last out speed number and four excellent peaking workouts. He has the tactical speed to stay the course as any pace scenario develops. This son of War Front holds the highest speed number at the distance.
