California Calls

Opening up our horse racing weekend we take a look at an optional claimer at Santa Anita.  Warm California calls as the gale winds of November are around the corner here in Chicago.

This promises to be a great little race with a field of nine making the start.  All entrants have exceptionally good work tabs  making it quite a challenge to see who will put in a better effort.

#8 Spirit Seeker (Bejarano / Hollendorfer) has an edge with the highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and two robust, peaking workouts.  She should share speed duties and could easily wire this field.
$2 SHOW.

#10 Ambitioness (Talamo / Diodoro) will challenge with the second highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and two athletic, peaking workouts.  She will track and pounce in the stretch.

Other Wagering Interests

#2 She's Very Rare (Flores / Garcia) will be moving up in distance from her last showing the third highest last out speed number.  She also holds a three race progression and has put in four strong workouts.  This gal should be forwardly place ready to take advantage of any weakening of the front runners.

#3 Smart Striking (Smith / Callaghan) will be making her first dirt start.  She holds the second highest speed number at the distance, albeit on Turf.  Her last out was a longer route and she has put in three superb, peaking workouts.  It appears that she will track the pace before launching a nice closing drive.

Keeneland R8.  Dowager.  Our first pick, Askbut I Won'ttell, finished 4th.  Our second pick, Chetah [GB], finished 3rd for show money of $3.00.  Our third pick, Endless Expanse [IRE], finished 8th.
Superfecta went 2-10-1-11.
Bankroll stumbles to $2.95.  We will supplement with an additional $10.00 for this weekends races.
