A nice Fall Friday is best spent watching fine equine athletes. Today we take a look at a Turf battle at sensational Santa Anita.
Santa Anita Race 7 {1 1/4 mile~Turf~3 year old Up~fillies/mares~Optional Claiming}
A good group of eight will go to the gate. Only two have traveled this distance, though all seem to be well prepared for the stretch out.
#1 Hard Sun (Talamo / Drysdale) holds the edge with the highest speed number at this distance, a couple of decent last out speed numbers, and four exhilerating workouts. She should track the pace and make her move heading for home.
$2 SHOW.
#8 Ela Gorrie Mou [GB] (Flores / Vienna) will challenge with the highest (tie) last out speed number, a three race progression, and two strong workouts. She is another that should track the pace closely.
$2 SHOW.
Other Wagering Interests
#5 Laura Beasley (Blanc / Chew) should be in the hunt with the second highest last out speed number, a five race progression, and four stamina producing workouts. Should there be pace she will close swiftly.
#3 Capital Plan (Bejarano / Hollendorfer) will also be in the mix with a couple of good last out speed numbers and five superlative workouts. She will also track the pace cruising for an opening to close down the field.
