A rough and tumble horse racing weekend comes to a close and we take a look at a great Turf race at beautiful Keeneland.
Keeneland Race 8 {Dowager~1 1/2 mile~Turf~3 year old Up~fillies/mares~Stakes}
A chance of rain today could put a damper on this most excellent Turf race. It is an outstanding full field of twelve making for an exciting race. All of these gals will be moving up in distance from their last and the vast majority have not raced this "marathon" distance. As an added bonus some of the greatest Turf trainers will line up their conditionees in this stakes race.
#11 Askbut I Won'ttell (Leparoux / Block) looks to have the edge with the highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and three superb, peaking workouts. She should track and close down this field.
$2 SHOW.
#1 Cheetah [GB] (Gomez / Clement) will postit a mighty challenge with the third highest (tie) last out speed number and three sturdy workouts. Watch for her to close speedily from the clouds.
$2 SHOW.
#8 Endless Expanse [IRE] (Sanchez / Clement) could be the big surprise with the fourth highest (tie) last out speed number and two solid workouts. She also holds the third highest speed number at the distance while being 66% in the money over three races. She is another closer that have an impact with running room. We toss a bronze horseshoe to her.
$2 SHOW.
Other Wagering Interests
#9 Speak Easy Gal (Bridgmohan / Wolfson) can be expected to share front end duties. Should she be able to tamp down the pace, she could figure prominently at the wire. She holds the second highest speed number at the distance and has put in three good workouts.
#10 Upperline (Graham / Stidham) could track and pounce for a solid piece of the purse pie. She holds the highest speed number over the Turf and has put together two endurance building workouts. She could be in there at the finish.
