Friday Mile

On this wonderful Friday we take a peek at a contentious mile race at bountiful Belmont.

A good group of seven fillies will line up for this feature stakes race.  There is plenty of speed and forwardly placed types to make for a heated pace.  It should be a terrific race.

#2 Flash Forward (I. Ortiz / Schettino) could benefit greatly from a hot pace with the highest last out speed number at a longer route, a five race progression, and one diligent workout.  This gal could track and close down this talented field.

#5 Girl Code (J. Ortiz / Gargan) will challenge with the highest speed number at the distance and a 100% in the money record at same in four races.  She has put in two robust workouts prepping for this one.  This gal could be the speed demon of the field.

#3 Ruby Lips (Castellano / Nevin) should be in the mix with a couple of o.k. last out speed numbers, a three race progression, and five stellar workouts that included three bullets.  She will be coming off an extended layoff ready to use her tactical speed.

#4 Toasting (Saez / Albertrani) should be in the hunt with the third highest last out speed number at a longer route, a two race progression, and two hearty workouts.  She could formulate a pressing attack and pounce in the stretch.
