On this Superfecta Sunday we take a gander at a sprint race in the Permian Basin where the sweet smell of Black Gold is prevalent.
Zia Park Race 11 {6 furlongs~3 year old Up~fillies/mares~NM~Allowance}
A nice field of eight gals will tangle in the fine New Mexico dirt. This race has a lone speed entrant along with a few that like to be forwardly placed. A number in here are coming off layoffs including two with extended ones. Let's try to drill down to capture a 10 CENT Superfecta Box.
#7 Desertsmagic (Juarez / Fincher) is one of those coming off a longer layoff, but appears ready to tangle with these. She shares the highest last out speed number, is working a two race progression, and has put in two robust workouts. This gal will close well into a strong pace.
#2 Piratz Stash (Madiera / Marr) is coming off a nice freshening as well as stretching out to a bit longer sprint. She holds the third highest last out speed number and has put in two very solid workouts. This gal is another that needs a swell pace to hit the stretch quickly. She loves the dirt and will be making her first foray on the Zia track. She is our Bronze Horseshoe runner.
$3 SHOW.
#6 Silver Streakin Gal (Eikleberry / Mikkelson) should show improvement coming out of a stakes race effort. She holds the fourth highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and two athletic, peaking workouts. This gal might be forwardly placed positioning for a swift stretch run.
#5 T Nell T (Lambert / Martin) should be the speed of the race sharing the highest last out speed number and working a five race progression. She also holds the highest speed number at the distance. Coming out of Ruidoso Downs, she hopes to improve on her Zia performances.
10 CENT Superfecta Box ($2.40)
#7 Desertsmagic + #2 Piratz Stash + #6 Silver Streakin Girl + #5 T Nell T.
