Superfecta Sunday on Louisville Turf

 We are looking at a excellent Turf contest down in Louisville on this Superfecta Sunday.

Churchill Downs Race 11 {Commonwealth Turf Stakes~G3~1 1/16 mile~Turf~3-year-old~Graded Stakes}

An equally talented field of eleven will race on the green in this topflight graded stake race.

Any one of these entrants have the capability to win this race. There is plenty of speed to keep the pace humming. Speed figs are exceptionally close making it super competitive. This will be one of the best races of the day.

#7 Actuator (B. Hernandez / McCarthy) is well prepped for the win with three super-charged workouts and the fourth highest last out speed number at a longer route. This lad also has the fourth highest speed number at the distance where he notched a win. He should be tracking the pace closely. A son of Bodemeister, he is 83% in the money from six career starts.

#3 Running Bee (Gaffalione / C. Brown) comes in with the highest last out speed number at a longer route and two solid workouts. He has the tactical speed to allow the pace to develop. A son of English Channel, he is 80% in the money from five career starts.

#5 Mount Rundle (Talamo / Nihei) should be closing gallantly as a swift pace develops. He loves the surface, distance and course. This guy has put together top line speed numbers in each of his last three races. A son of Jack Milton, he is 60% in the money form five career starts.

Fair Grounds is Open in NOLA

 Fair Grounds has opened, and we look forward to a long and hopefully, profitable meet. On this Stakes Saturday we look in on a smashing sprint race for the Louisiana bred lads.

Fair Grounds Race 8 {Monte Man Stakes~6 Furlongs~3 year-old Up~LA~Stakes}

A good group of ten will go to the gate in this Louisiana stakes race.

There is a ferocious amount of speed in this one. Speed figs are fairly close making this race competitive. Only three have not yet raced over the Fair Grounds track. All are well prepped for the start of the Fair Grounds season. It should be an exciting race.

#2 Bertie's Galaxy (Loveberry / Faucheaux) looks read to blast from the gate and not look back. He holds the third highest last out speed number and two solid peaking workouts. A son of Greely's Galaxy, he is 80% in the money from twenty-five career starts.
