Turf-day at Hollywood Park

Thursday is Turf-day.
Today we look at a highly competitve mile Turf contest at Hollywood Park to start our horse racing weekend.

Hollywood Park Race 5 {1 mile~Turf~3 year old Up~Claiming}
A fascinating field of ten who each have only won one race a piece.  There will be little speed in this one.  It would seem that these will plod along until hitting the stretch.  We will focus on three that have a chance to break into the money.

#2 Bud I Crushed It (M. Garcia / Winick) looks ready to move forward with the second highest last out speed number at a longer route, a four race progression, and two robust, peaking workouts.
$2 SHOW.

$2 SHOW.

#6 Lewdawg N Paradise (Pedroza / Schiewe) is 100% in the money at this distance and has put in two solid workouts.  Could be in the hunt.

Relax...It's Hollywood

The last day of our horse racing weekend and we will examine a wonderrful Turf stakes race at Hollywood Park.

Hollywood Park Race 8 {Beverly Hills~G3~1 1/4 mile~Turf~3 year old Up~fillies/mares~Stakes}
A nice small field of six will line up in this annual event.  There will be little or no swift speed in this one making it a very interesting tactical affair.  Three have run this distance and three will try it for the first time.  All have been well prepped workout wise.

#4 Cozi Rosie (Rosario / Sadler) should go off as the favorite, deservedly so, with the highest last out speed number and two aggressive workouts.  She loves the Hollywood Turf and will bring it on in the stretch.
$2 WIN.

#5 Restless Soul [GB] (Talamo / Drysdale) will challenge with the second highest last out speed number and four fierce workouts.  This gal holds the third highest speed number at the distance.  She too will close nicely in the stretch.

Monmouth Park Race 11 {1 1/16 mile~OFF the Turf~3 year old Up~Optional Claiming}
