A strong field of twelve will go to the gate in this important race.

Past Performances used:  Equibase.

This field is well prepped as all will stretch out to this classic distance. Speed numbers are fairly close. There should be a strong pace as most will be jostling in the forwardly placed pack. It should be the best race on a fine Century Mile card filled with wagering opportunities.

#2 Red Knobs (Carreno / Diodoro) could go off as the favorite with the highest (tie) last out speed number and three solid workouts. He should track the pace closely. This colt will try the Century Mile track for the first time. A son of Union Rags, he is 63% in the money from eleven career starts.

After a brief respite we are back in action as we take a look at one of the top Summer graded stakes races at "the Spa".

Saratoga Race 11 {Woodward~G1~1 1/8 mile~3 year-old Up~graded Stakes}

A great group of nine will go to the gate in this annual contest. There is enough speed signed on to guarantee an honest pace. Speed numbers are fairly close with most in the triple digits. Two millionaires join the battle for victory. It should be one of the most exciting races of the Labor day weekend racing action.

#5 Preservationist (Alvarado / Jerkens) might have a slight edge with three top flight last out speed figs and four supreme peaking workouts. This lad is an impressive 88% in the money from nine career starts. A son of Arch, he should be tracking the pace closely and launch into the stretch.
$1 WIN  /  $2 PLACE  / $3 SHOW.

#9 Tom's d'Etat (I. Ortiz / Stall) should take another step forward with the second highest last out speed number and two sound workouts. This guy loves the surface and distance. He could be part of the pace scenario. A son of Smart Strike, he has a strong 76% in the money record from thirteen career starts.
$1 PLACE  /  $2 SHOW.

#3 Vino Rosso (J. Velazquez / Pletcher) is fine tuned to make a significant impact in the race. His last three speed figs fit in this group well and he has one powerful bullet workout. This guy is 100% in the money at this distance. A millionaire son of Curlin, he should be tracking the pace ready to make his move.

Bankroll dips to $6.37.  We will give it a Hamilton supplement for today's race.

Venture North for Graded Stakes

On this Superfecta Sunday we venture North for a fine graded stakes race at a new track in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Perhaps a change in venue will do us some good.

Century Mile Race 10 {Canadian Derby~G3~1 1/4 mile~3 year-old~Graded Stakes}

A great field of twelve will enter into the gate in this 90th running of the derby. There is some speed to keep an honest pace. Speed figs align nicely giving any of these improving lads a chance to move over to the winners circle. All of these guys will be stretching out to the mile and a quarter distance. Our task is to hatch a winning 20 CENT Superfecta box ticket. It should be a fantastic race to wager and watch.

#8 Final Jeopardy (Sarmiento / Hall)  will be the favorite coming in from New York. He holds the highest last out speed fig and one sound workout. This colt has faced tougher in his young career. A son of Kentucky Derby winner, Street Sense, he should be tracking the pace-setters and close them all down.

#7 Journeyman (D. Nelson / Harty) should present a strong challenge with the fourth highest last out speed fig and three superb workouts. This gelding comes in from Chicago and holds a 100% in the money record from six career starts. Another son of a Kentucky Derby winner, Animal Kingdom, he should be tracking closely and strike in the stretch. He is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.
$2 SHOW.

#10 Senor Friday (O. Mojica / Diodoro) appears to be sitting on a significant effort having traveled well in the North lands. He holds some good last out speed figs and three hearty, peaking workouts. He is one of the most experienced runners of the group earning a 54% in the money record from eleven career starts. A son of Curlin, he should enjoy this distance.

#3 Kaziranga (M. Pedroza / M. Simms) is another of the more experienced runners with some very good last out speed figs and one sharp workout. This colt should relish the distance as he comes in from the Kentucky racing circuit. A son of Candy Ride [ARG], he is another that will be part of the tracking crew looking for an opening as the quickening begins.

20 CENT Superfecta Box ($4.80)

#8 Final Jeopardy  +  #7 Jorneyman  +  #10 Senor Friday  +  #3 Kaziranga.
