Superfecta Sunday at Muddy Big "A"

Off we go to the East Coast for a race originally scheduled for Thursday 12/15, but cancelled to do a weather event. It should be a fine sprint re-boot.

Aqueduct Race 10 {6 Furlongs~3 year-old Up~Fillies/Mares~Allowance}

A great group of eight will hit the mud in this re-scheduled sprint. Plenty of speed should produce a frothy pace. Speed numbers are fairly close. Our task is to fashion together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket.

#7 Tahoe Tigress (Franco / Friedman) should benefit from the speedsters dueling on the front end. She holds the second highest (tie) last out speed number, a six race progression, and one strong workout. She should track and close magnificently. This gal is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.
$5 SHOW.

#4 Frosty Margarita (I. Ortiz / R. Rodriguez) has the tactical speed to stay the course no matter what develops on the front end. She holds the third highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and two sound workouts. This gal loves the distance and the track.

#3 Absatootly (Cancel / Baker) could show some speed as she comes off a layoff. She fits in well here with a couple of good last out speed numbers and four superb peaking workouts. She has a solid in the money record overall (87%) and at the distance (100%).

#2 She's All Ready (D. Davis / Ryerson) could surprise sharing the second highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and one bullet workout. She does have tactical speed to sit right off the pace ready to roll as the pack hits the stretch.

Gulfstream Park R8.  El Prado Stakes.  Our first pick, Go Around, finished 5th.  Our second pick, Flatlined, finished 2nd for place money of $3.40 and show money of $4.00.  Our third pick, Heart to Heart, won (1st) for show money of $1.05.
Superfecta went 1-5-3-7.
Bankroll sheds a little to settle at $144.77.

Stakes Saturday in South Florida

With the "Championship Season" in full swing we take in a contentious Turf battle in Florida.

Gulfstream Park Race 8 {El Prado Stakes~7 1/2 Furlongs~TURF~3 year-old Up~Stakes}

A top notch group of eight will enter the Turf gate in this annual affair. There is plenty of speed to keep a high level pace moving across the course. Speed figs are very close. It should be one of the most exciting races of the day.

#6 Go Around (Castellano / Mott) might have the edge with the second highest last out speed number at a longer route, a four race progression, and two superb workouts. This guy has the tactical speed to keep to the task. A son of Medaglia d'Oro, he is well rested and excellently pointed in this race.
$1 WIN  /  $2 PLACE  /  $3 SHOW.

#5 Flatlined (Bravo / Dickey) should produce a season best with a couple of good last out speed numbers, a two race progression, and two sensational peaking workouts. He loves the Gulfstream course hitting his top speed number here. A son of Flatter, he should be able to cruise close to the pace and spring forward into the stretch.
$1 PLACE  /  $2 SHOW.

#1 Heart to Heart (Leparoux / Lynch) could off as the favorite with the highest last out speed number as well as the highest overall speed number on the Turf.  He has put in one bullet workout prepping for this race. A speedster son of English Channel, he could wire this field.

Other Wagering Interests

#2 Security Risk (Velazquez / McGaughey) has some significant upside potential with the fourth highest last out speed number, a four race progression, and two strong workouts. He should be traveling close to the pace ready to strike. This son of War Front, will be hitting the Gulfstream Turf for the first time.

#7 Reporting Star (L. Saez / Walsh) is another that could be moving into a peak performance with a couple of excellent last out speed numbers, a three race progression, and one solid workout. A son of Circular Quay, he should travel smoothly in mid-pack readying his assault in the stretch.

December 4, 2016 Superfecta Sunday Results
Del Mar Thoroughbred Club R7.  Matriarch--G1.  We just missed on our 10 CENT Superfecta Box effort scoring three of the four wagering interests required. Superfecta went 12-7-2-6.
Our Bronze Horseshoe runner, Stays in Vegas, finished 3rd for show money of $11.20.
Bankroll gets a lift to $146.52.

Superfecta Sunday on a Warm December Day

We've reached Superfecta Sunday on a warm December day in New York.

Aqueduct Race 7 {6 furlongs~3 year-old Up~Starter Allowance}

Already three scratches have reduced this field to a modest seven. There is an abundance of speed and forwardly placed types remaining.  Speed numbers are fairly close which ensures a hard fought sprint battle. Our task is to cobble a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket.

#4 Stay Tuned (Franco / C. Englehart) appears to be in good form with the second highest last out speed number at a longer sprint, a four race progression, and one solid workout. He should be tracking the pace closely ready to unleash into the stretch. He is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.
$1 SHOW.

#2 Chapman (H. Hernandez / Jacobson) looks ready to romp with a couple of decent last out speed numbers, a three race progression, and one peaking workout. He is another that should track the pace closely. He loves this Aqueduct course evident by his 70% in the money record from ten tries.

#6 Call Daddy (Carmouche / Toscano) will be seeking his fourth win in a row. He holds the fourth highest last out speed number at a longer sprint and one strong workout. He has tactical speed to feel out the pace in the early running. This lad shows a 66% in the money record at the distance from six starts.

#7 The Big Deluxe (I. Ortiz / Klesaris) could dominate this field with the highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and one peaking workout. He will be setting out for his third win in a row. That last out performance earned him the highest speed number overall, over the surface, and at this distance among this field.

The scratch rendered our 10 CENT Superfecta play a non-starter.

Stakes Saturday in Sunny Florida

Down in sunny Florida is where we go for the Turf is good on Stakes Saturday.

Gulfstream Park Race 11 {El Prado Stakes~7 1/2 furlongs~TURF~3 year-old Up~Stakes}

The complexion of this race changed dramatically with the defection of two solid contenders. There is plenty of speed to produce a frothy pace. Speed numbers are super close which should make for a highly competitive event. It should be a very exciting race.

#1 Aztec Brave [FR] (Lanerie / Sharp) might have a slight edge with the highest last out speed number at a mile route and a two race progression. He has the tactical speed to go with the pace flow and turn it up a notch going into the stretch. This son of Pyrus is 100% in the money at this distance from seven starts.
$1 WIN  /  $2 SHOW.

#4 Victory Exchange (Castellano / J. Carroll) could challenge while attempting his first Turf effort. He holds the third highest (tie) last out speed number and has put in two sound workouts. His top of the line connections give a good shot in this field. This son of Exchange Rate should be tracking the pace ready to strike.

#10 Reporting Star (Vasquez / Parente) should contend with the fourth highest last out speed number at a route and one determined workout. He should be forwardly placed ready to roll. This son of Circular Quay holds the second highest speed number at the distance.

#3 Plainview (Bravo / Jacobson) should be in the hunt with the second highest last out speed number at a mile route and three quick peaking workouts. This lad will show speed from the gate. This son of Street Cry [IRE] holds two victories at this distance.

Superfecta Sunday in Oklahoma

We take a look at a group of youngsters running in a quality stakes race down in Oklahoma City.

Remmington Park Race 11 {Springboard Mile~1 mile~2 year old~Stakes}
A lively group of eleven will go to the gate in this feature stakes race.  There is enough forwardly placed types in here to keep an urgent pace. These lads are all close in their speed fig performances posing a handicapping challenge. We will try to cobble a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box together.

#3 Bayerd (Santana / Asmussen) should be the overall favorite with the fourth highest last out speed number and three robust workouts. This lad is 100% in the money in is four starts. He should be part of the forwardly placed contingent seeking to fire away from the pack.

#1A Conbradulations (Berry / Calhoun) should challenge with a pressing attack. He has already placed at this distance already earning the fourth highest (tie) speed number at this distance among these competitors. This lad holds a couple of decent last out speed figures, a two race progression, and two strong workouts. He, along with his coupled entry-mate, #1 Phenomenal Phoenix (Berry / Von Hemel) is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.

#10 High Noon Rider (Bravo / Weaver) seeks to contend with the highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and two superb workouts. That highest speed number produced a win at this distance. It appears he can either hang with the boys upfront or decide to come from off the pace to chase the victory.

#4 Hillbilly Style (Court / Lukas) could surprise as he pursues his maiden win. He holds a couple of decent last out speed numbers, is coming off a longer route in which he took the place money, and has put in one grand workout. Should there be a speedy pace he should take every advantage of it.

We go to the Turf for Stakes Saturday

On this Stakes Saturday we venture to sunny Florida for some Turf action.

Gulfstream Park Race 8 {El Prado~7 1/2 Furlongs~TURF~3 year old Up~Stakes}
A hearty field of nine will go to the green in this feature stakes race. There are enough speedsters and forwardly placed types to ignite a decent pace.  All speed numbers closely resemble one another. It should be a fantastic race.

#7 Mshawish (Castellano / Pletcher) should get a nice pace to run into. He holds the second highest last out speed number at a route, a four race progression, and two dynamic workouts.  This son of Medaglia d'Oro should track the pace in good position, ready to fly.

#1 Excaper (Rosario / Black) will challenge with the fourth highest last out speed number and four superb workouts during a brief freshening. This son of Exchange Rate should be one of the forwardly placed types seeking to hold sway. He loves this distance.

#8 Midnight Cello  (Bocachica  / Vitali) should contend with the highest last out speed number, a four race progression, and three dynamite peaking workouts.  This son of Midnight Lute is another that will be tracking the pace looking for the right opening.

#11 Fredericksburg (Saez / Matz) is in fine form and will compete well in this group. He holds the third highest last out speed number and has put in two stout workouts.  This son of Speightstown has a versatile running style to fit whatever the tempo of the race will be.

Superfecta Sunday at Turf Paradise

On this Sunday we go to the "Valley of the Sun" for some nice Turf action.

Turf Paradise Race 8 {7 1/2 Furlongs~TURF~3 year old Up~fillies/mares~Allowance}
A field of ten will line up for this grass allowance feature.  There is sufficient speed to keep the pace going.  After the three most outstanding horses in this group, it is a tough one to figure out.  Let's try to forge a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket.

#9 Collating Lady (Franco / Silva) looks dominating among this field with the second highest last out speed number off a route and one strong workout.  She has raced well at both Hollywood Park and Santa Anita earlier this year.  She should be able to take advantage of the pace with her tracking and closing running style.

#4 Triveni [FR] (Carreno / S. Callaghan) could be well spotted for this race with the highest last out speed number, a four race progression, and two robust, peaking workouts.  This French bred filly also has the highest speed number at the distance.  She is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.

#6 Laura Beasley (Ochoa / McFarlane) should be in the mix with a couple of decent last out speed numbers and one good workout.  She holds the third best speed number at the distance along with a 57% in the money record.  Her tracking/closing style will benefit her today.

#1 Serious Stuff (Bridges / McFarlane) could have the speed to hold on with the third highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and one bullet workout.  She could surprise.

We scuttled our 10 CENT Superfecta ticket due to the scratch.  Superfecta went 14-4-5-8.

Great Gulfstream Turf

A magnificent Stakes Saturday for a Turf contest in South Florida.  We go to beautiful Gulfstream Park for some fabulous turf action.

Gulfstream Park R9 {El Prado~1 mile~TURF~3 year old Up~Stakes}
A huge field of fourteen is expected to go to the grass for this highly competitive contest.  There is a great amount of speed which should make for a furious pace.  With a crowded field those close and well positioned to the pace could prevail.

#5 Salto [IRE] (Castellano / Pletcher) could get it done with the highest last out speed number at a longer route, a five race progression, improving with every race since setting his hooves in America, and two sufficient workouts.  He should be close ready to fire.
$1 WIN / $2 SHOW.

#14 Nikki's Sandcastle (Lanerie / Kassen) should challenge with the second highest last out speed number at a longer route and three solid workouts.  This guy will stay close and pounce in the stretch.
$1 PLACE / $1 SHOW.

#13 Hollinger (Lezcano / Attfield) looks well prepped to be a contender with the fourth highest last out speed number at a longer route, a two race progression, and three stellar peaking workouts.  He should have an advantage by tracking the pace and then moving swiftly through the stretch.
