Gulfstream Park Race 10 {South Beach~7 1/2 furlongs~Turf~3 year old Up~fillies/mares~Stakes}
A huge field of fourteen will line up for this annual race.  This is a great group of gals, many of which we like and have proven their mettle in previous races.  The race may mirror an Euro Turf contest, particularly with a mad rush to the finish.  There will be come terrific speed in this almost one mile distance which could set up nicely for a horse coming off the pace or closing swiftly.

Return to Hollywood Turf Action

A splendid horse racing weekend concludes with a look at a Turf battle at Hollywood Park.  The Thanksgiving weekend closes and still we give thanks to our equine heros.

Hollywood Park Race 9 {Hollywood Derby~G1~1 1/4 mile~TURF~3 year old Up~Stakes}
A difficult race to calibrate with a fully diverse field of twelve.  Only three have gone this distance and all three can be expected to be a major factor in the race.  Based on running styles it may be a race of the forwardly placed.

#3 Slumber [GB] (Gomez / Hills) is an Euro invader that seemingly has the advantage as he is 100% in the money over three races at this distance.  He has put in a peaking three furlong workout prepping for this race and ran an outstanding race last out in Britain.  Also operating with a three race progression.  Could be the one to beat.
$2 SHOW.

#12 Wilcox Inn (Albarado / Stidham) may the best to be put up against the Euro breds.  He has also managed this distance with aplomb, placing fourth in the grade one Secretariat.  He holds the second best last out speed number and has put in four fantastic workouts leading up to this race.
