Superfecta Sunday at Keeneland

A few days into the Fall Keeneland meet and already the 10 CENT Superfecta's are paying handsomely.  Today we take a look at some of the splendid fillies and mares in a wonderful grade one route.

Keeneland Race 8 {Juddmonte Spinster~G1~1 1/8 mile~3 year old Up~fillies/mares~Stakes}
A full field of thirteen gals will go to the gate in this annual grade one route.  All of these ladies are lightly raced this year.  Most are returning to the track after a brief freshening making this contest all the more exciting.  Forwardly placed types dominate the group which may make for an off the pace gal to earn the victory.

Such full-blooded fields are a 10 CENT Superfecta handicappers dream.  Therefore try we must to fashion a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket.

#3 Aruna (Dominguez / Motion) is the deserving favorite with a field stacked with speedsters and pressers.  She holds the second highest speed number at the distance, is coming off a longer route and has put in two judicious workouts.  She can be expected to fly off the pace.

#11 Mystical Star (Lezcano / Clement) will challenge with the fourth highest last out speed number off a longer route, holds two wins in two races at this distance, and has put in three fabulous peaking workouts.  She is ready to sit close to the pace and dive into the fray in the stretch.

#7 Upperline (Graham / Stidham) may surprise with the third highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and four sensational workouts.  This veteran loves the polytrack racing well at Arlington Park, Keeneland, and Woodbine.  She is another that will sit relatively close to the pace and launch a terrific drive in the stretch.  This daughter of Maria's Mon is our bronze horseshoe selection.
$3 SHOW.

#5 In Lingerie (J. Velazquez / Pletcher) will challenge with the second highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and four robust, peaking workouts.  She likes tracking the pace and then making her move.  The pace set-up should favor her running style.

10 CENT Superfecta Box ($2.40)

#3 Aruna  +  #11 Mystical Star  +  #7 Upperline  +  #5 In Lingerie.

Keeneland Green on a Thursday

We start out horse racing weekend with a look at the youngsters at Keeneland.

Keeneland Race 8 {JP Morgan Chase Jessamine~G3~1 1/16~Turf~2 year old~Fillies~Stakes}
A field of twelve will go to the green for this race.  Hopefully the weather holds.  Only one gal in the field has gone this distance.  It should be a great race.

#9 Sweet Cat (J. Velazquez / Pletcher) holds a slight edge with the third highest (tie) last out speed number, a two race progression, and four athletic workouts.  She should get first jump on the field in the stretch run.
$2 SHOW.

$2 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#2 Somali Lemonade (Solis / Matz) should be in the hunt with the highest last out speed number, her only start, and two robust workouts.  Expect a deep close should the pace boil over.  Capable of pulling off the victory.

Ladies at Keeneland

Our horse racing weekend comes to a close and we take in a grade one at Keeneland.

The Breeder's Cup Championships are only a few weeks away.  Let's hope the weather is this nice for those races at historic Churchill Downs.

Keeneland Race 9 {Juddmonte Spinster~G1~1 1/8 mile~3 year old Up~fillies/mares}
This should be an outstanding race to wager and watch.  A field of twelve accomplished gals will make their way to the gate for the start of this grade one on the polytrack.  The entire field has closely matched speed figures which could make it anyone's race.  There are loads of angles to look at in this one.

#2 Aruna (Dominguez / Motion) will be making a Turf to synthetic switch for this.  She appears ready to race well with the second highest (three-way tie) last out speed number, a six race progression, and four ultra-fine workouts.  She should close nicely into a hot pace.
$2 SHOW.

#12 Pachattack (Maragh / Butler) will challenge, sharing the second highest last out speed number, holding a two race progression, and putting in two stamina producing workouts.  She could track the pace and make a mighty closing run.
$2 SHOW.

#5 Stars to Shine (Buick / Frostad) is another prepped to race well, also with the second highest last out speed number.  She has a seven race progression and two robust workouts to compliment her tracking style of running.  She loves the poly and should demonstrate it.
$2 SHOW.

Another Wagering Interest

#4 Sugar Again (Solis / Sheppard) looks ready to make a strong challenge with a couple of decent last out speed numbers, a two race progression, and the gal to post a speedy work over the Keeneland polytrack.  She loves the sythetic surface and should close well over it.
