A Fine Turf Sprint on Stakes Saturday

 We look in on a fine Turf Sprint contest down in NOLA.

Fair Grounds Race Course Race 8 {Pan Zareta Stakes~5 1/2 Furlongs~TURF~3 year-old Up~Fillies/Mares~Stakes}

A talented field of twelve will hit the green in this annual contest.

Not one of these ladies have raced over the Fair Grounds course. There is plenty of speed to produce a lively pace. Speed figures are very close, making it any one's race to win. All have been well prepped for the race. It should be one of the best races of the day.

#11 Cupid's Crush (Graham / M. Robertson) has cobbled three victories in a row seeking her fourth. She comes off a route race with one solid workout. She is exceptional over the Turf. Look for her to show tactical speed and strike with the flow. A daughter of Cupid, she is 87% in the money from sixteen starts.

#4 Ever So Sweet [IRE] (Pedroza / B. Cox) comes in with the fourth highest (tie) last out speed number and four superb workouts. She will show speed. This gal is solid over the Turf and at the distance. A daughter of Calyx [GB], she is 66% in the money from six starts.

#1 Bosserati (Cohen / Russell) comes in with the second highest (tie) last out speed number and two sound workouts. She will be with the speedsters up front on the lead. This filly loves the Turf and distance. A daughter of Holy Boss, she is 58% in the money from seventeen starts.

Stakes Saturday down in NOLA

 A good Stakes Saturday to you all. Today we look in on a great stakes race down in the "Big Easy".

Fair Grounds Race Course Race 8 {Pan Zareta Stakes~5 1/2 Furlongs~TURF~3 year-old~Fillies/Mares}

A talented field of eleven will go to the green in this annual affair.

This race has a plethora of speed which could produce intriguing results. Speed figs are fairly close among many of these gals. Only five have covered the Fair Grounds course. All but two have gone this short Turf distance. It should be a very excellent race to wager and watch.

#10 Elle's Town (C. Hernandez / Broberg) comes in from Remington Park with the highest last out speed number and one efficient workout. She has the tactical speed to see how the pace develops and react accordingly. She loves the surface, distance, and Fair Grounds course. A daughter of Speightstown, she is 65% in the money from twenty-nine career starts.

#1 Elle Z (Murrill / Hartman) last raced at a slightly longer sprint up at Churchill Downs. She has put in a strong workout in the last thirty days. Stakes Saturday in South Florida

 Off we go (virtually of course) to fabulous South Florida to wager and watch on an exciting graded stakes Turf race.

Gulfstream Park Race 10 {Ft. Lauderdale~G2~1 1/8 mile~3 year-old Up~Graded Stakes}

A solid field of ten will venture onto the green in this annual graded stakes race.

Past Performances used:  DRF Formulator.

There is plenty of speedsters and forwardly placed types to maintain a heated pace. Speed numbers are fairly close with a number in here hitting the triple digit ranks. All appear to be well prepped and well rested to step into Gulfstream's championship season. It should be a stellar race.

#10 Halladay (L. Saez / Pletcher) could have the edge over this group with the second highest last out speed number and two hearty workouts. This guy is undefeated over the Gulfstream course in three races. Look for him to be part of the speedy crew upfront. A son of War Front, he is 80% in the money from fifteen career starts.

#9 Factor This (J. Ortiz / B. Cox) will challenge with the fourth highest (tie) last out speed numbers and two strong workouts. He holds the highest speed number of the field at this distance. Look for him to be forwardly placed in the thick of the battle. A millionaire son of The Factor, he is 60% in the money from thirty-three career starts.

#2 Delaware [GB] (I. Ortiz / C. Brown) should contend sharing the fourth highest last out speed number and throwing down a couple of bullet workouts. He should benefit from a hot pace with his tracking running style. A son of Frankel [GB], he is 60% in the money from fifteen career starts.

#3 Doswell (Alvarado / Tagg) comes in fastening together two consecutive wins and four exceptional Turf workouts. This lad should be forwardly places looking to strike. Last Stakes Saturday (12/5) Results

Fair Grounds R9.  Pan Zareta Stakes.  Our first pick, Play On, finished 4th.  Our second pick, Into Mystic, finished 2nd for place money of $1.90 and show money of $3.20.  Our third pick, A Bit of Both, finished 5th.  Our fourth pick, Sterling Miss, finished 9th.

We failed in our Exacta Wheel effort. Superfecta went 2-11-1-4.

Bankroll gets flogged and drops to $11.12. We will supplement with a Hamilton and a Lincoln for today's race.

Stakes Saturday Down in NOLA

 On this Stakes Saturday we take a look at a fine Turf sprint stakes down in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Fair Grounds Race 9 {Pan Zareta Stakes~5 1/2 Furlongs~TURF~3 year-old Up~Fillies/Mares~Stakes}

A nice field of twelve ladies will race on the green in this annual affair.

Past Performances used:  Equibase.

Only half the field has raced over the Fair Grounds Race Course. There is a plethora of speed as one would expect in these Turf sprints down in NOLA. Speed numbers are very close making it quite a competitive race. Most of these ladies will be firing fresh with a couple of them coming off extended layoffs. It should be a very exciting race.

#4 Play On (S. Bridgmohan / B. Cox) is coming off an extended layoff with the highest (tie) last out speed number and three stellar workouts. This gal loves the surface, distance, and Fair Grounds course. She should be forwardly placed among the speedsters. A daughter of Country Day, she is 63% in the money from eleven career starts.

$1 WIN  /  $2 PLACE  /  $3 SHOW.

#11 Into Mystic (Santana / B. Walsh) is likely to go off as the favorite sharing the highest last out speed number and putting in a sound workout. She should position just off the pack of pace leaders ready to strike. This will be her first outing over the Fair Grounds course. A daughter of Into Mischief, she is 66% in the money from fifteen career starts.

#10 A Bit of Both (Geroux / Maker) will challenge with the fourth highest speed number at the distance all the while hitting the board all five times having run this distance. #13 Sterling Miss (Gilligan / S. Wilson) draws into the race off an extended layoff. This gal has the fourth highest speed number over the surface. She comes in with three hearty workouts. Aqueduct R8.  Fall Highweight Handicap--G3.  We just missed on our 10 CENT Superfecta Box effort catching three of the four wagering interests required to cash. Superfecta went 5-6-4-7. Our Bronze Horseshoe runner, Stan the Man, finished 2nd for show money of $1.35.

Bankroll gets nipped and dips to $22.82.
