Stakes Saturday Sweet Home Arlington

Heading into the unofficial start of summer onto the Arlington International Turf.

Arlington International Race 8 {Arlington Classic~G3~1 1/16 mile~TURF~3 year-old~Graded Stakes}

A great crop of six talented horses will hit the yielding green in this prelude to the Secretariat Stakes on Million Day. There are four Triple Crown nominees among this group. Speed numbers are barely discernable as any of these have the chance to pull off the victory. There is some pace and both of those lads should be in the thick of it. It should be a great TURF race.

#7 Parlor (Castanon / Kenneally) might have the advantage with the highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and two strong workouts. This son of Lonhro [AUS] should take up a tracking position and strike in the stretch.

#6 Fast and Accurate (Hill / Maker) should challenge with a solid win over a Turf surface. he exits KD 143 and appears to prefer either the synthetic or Turf. Dropping in from that longer route of a mile and quarter, he has prepped with two excellent peaking workouts. This son of Hansen could show speed from the opening of the gates.

Other Wagering Interests

#8 Cowboy Culture (Bridgmohan / Cox) will contend with the second highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and two stout workouts. He should be part of the tracking pack as they make their way around the Arlington course. A son of Quality Road, he has posted all three of his career wins over the Turf.

#9 Giant Payday (C. Landeros / Wilkes) should be in the mix from the outset. This guy holds a couple of very good last out speed numbers, a four race progression, and three stellar workouts. He has acquitted himself well over the slog. A son of Giant's Causeway, he loves the Turf.

Last Superfecta Sunday (5/21) Results
Santa Anita Park R9.  Fran's Valentine Stakes.  With an eventual DQ, we only captured two of the four required to cash our 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket. Superfecta went 7-2-5-3.
Our Bronze Horseshoe runner, Cheekaboo, ended up finishing 5th due to the disqualification of the #1 horse, Pacific Heat.
Bankroll gets chewed up settling at $2.25. We will supplement with a Hamilton for todays racing.

Superfecta Sunday at Santa Anita

Another fine Superfecta Sunday.  We take in a nice Stakes race on the Turf at the "Great Race Place".

Santa Anita Park Race 9 {Fran's Valentine Stakes~1 mile~TURF~3 year-old Up~Fillies/Mares~CA~Stakes}

A talented field of seven gals will go to the green in this feature contest on the card. There is plenty of speed to keep the pace furious. Speed numbers are all fairly close making for a highly competitive event. Our task is to fasten together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket.

#8 Cheekaboo (Smith / Eurton) looks to have the advantage with the second highest (tie) last out speed number at a longer route and two strong workouts. She loves the Turf and this distance. Look for her to close swiftly in the stretch. She is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.
$2 SHOW.

#2 Roo's Valentine (Pedroza / Mulhall) should challenge with the highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and three stellar peaking workouts. This gal will be part of the forwardly placed team leading the charge.

#1 Pacific Heat (Prat / Eurton) will contend with the third highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and two hearty workouts. She should be forwardly placed ready to strike. This gal relishes this distance.

#5 Ticaboo (T. Baze / Oviedo) should be in the mix with three wins in a row notched onto her saddle. This gal should be on the front end seeking perform a wire job. She loves the distance and the Santa Anita course.

Belmont Park R8.  Starter Allowance.  We skidded out of our 10 CENT Superfecta box play capturing only one of the four required to get some stacks. Superfecta went 15-5-1-10.
Our Bronze Horseshoe selection, Jemmabelle, finished 5th.
Bankroll crashes and burns to $1.65. We will supplement with a Lincoln.

Superfecta Sunday on New York Dirt

We take in the last at Belmont. Unfortunately, it has been moved off the Turf and onto the dirt.

Belmont Park Race 8 {1 1/16 mile~3 year-old Up~Fillies/Mares~Starter Allowance}

A good group of nine gals will go to the gate in this last race on Mother's Day. There is some speed to provide an honest pace. Speed numbers for these gals are relatively close. Our task is to mold a winning 10 CENT Superfecta Box ticket. It should be a nice night-cap for a terrific day of racing.

#13 Jemmabelle (H. Diaz / Weaver) will be stretching out to this distance which she should enjoy as a daughter of the great Street Sense. This gal holds the fourth highest last out speed number and has put in three diligent workouts. She is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.
$1 SHOW.

#6 Wonderful Savvy (Castellano / R. Rodriguez) will challenge with the second highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and three tremendous workouts. She should be part of the forwardly placed operators. This gal could pull off the victory on the stretch out.

#15 Northern Screamer (I. Ortiz / Gargan) should go off as the favorite with the highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and one solid workout. She will be going for her third win in a row. This gal has the tactical speed to fit in with whatever pace develops.

#11 Loyal Heart (Simpson / Pringle) appears to be in good form with a couple of decent last out speed numbers. She has done her better racing over the dirt. This lady gets into the race as an also eligible and could be positioned forwardly to strike in the stretch.

Superfecta Sunday at Belmont

On this Superfecta Sunday we take in a great Turf sprint at beautiful Belmont Park.

Belmont Park Race 6 {7 Furlongs~TURF~3 year-old Up~Allowance}

A high quality field of twelve will take to the green in this allowance feature. There is some speed to produce comfortable fractions. Speed figs are fairly close which should indicate significant competitiveness. All appear to be starting fresh with the vast majority of the field having short to extended layoffs. Our task is to string together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket. It should the most exciting race on the day.

#10 Dowse's Beach (J. Ortiz / Clement) might be favored coming off an extended layoff. He shows the third highest last out speed number and three sound workouts. He should be forwardly placed allowing him first strike capability. He excels at the distance and over the Belmont Turf.

#2 Tombelaine (Castellano / C. Brown) will challenge with the second highest last out speed number at a slightly longer Turf sprint down at Gulfstream Park, and three workmanlike works. He should track the pace closely ready to spring into the stretch run.

#8 Glorious Empire [IRE] (Graham / Morely) comes in from Fairgrounds where he earned a couple of excellent last out speed numbers and has put in three strong peaking workouts during a brief freshening period. With the right pace, this lad will be closing swiftly. He is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.
$3 SHOW.

#4 Chiltern Street (Rosario / W. Ward) should contend with the highest speed number at the distance and three tremendous workouts. This guy should be part of the pace makers on the front end. He also shows the highest speed fig over the Belmont Turf course.

Churchill Downs R12.  143rd KENTUCKY DERBY.  Our first pick, Irish War Cry, finished 10th.  Our second pick, Classic Empire, finished 4th.  Our third pick, Hence, finished 11th.
Trifecta went 5-1-11.
Superfecta went 5-1-11-14.
Pentafecta (Super Hi-Five) went 5-1-11-14-19.
Bnakroll nearly gets wiped out falling to a bottom level $5.45.

Kentucky Derby 143

An hour away from the greatest two minutes in sports.

Churchill Downs Race 12 {Kentucky Derby~G1~3 year-old~Graded Stakes}

A fall field of twenty Triple Crown nominees will shoot out of the gate in the 143rd running of the Kentucky Derby. As we approach race time the track is sloppy/muddy. A number of horses have not gotten over such a track in their short racing careers which adds a significant wrinkle to the event. There is enough speed to create an honest pace. Not one of these horses have gone this exact distance. Speed figures are very, very close making the race one of the most competitive in recent memory. It should be a thrilling race to start the run for the Triple Crown.

#17 Irish War Cry (Maragh / Motion) will be going strong from the outset. A son of Curlin, he holds the highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and one earnest workout. He should race close to the pace and kick going into the stretch.
$2 WIN  /  $3 PLACE  /  $5 SHOW.

#14 Classic Empire (Leparoux / Casse) will challenge while holding a forwardly placed positon. The champ holds the third highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and two hearty workouts. This son of Pioneer of the Nile should show grit and determination over the muck.
$2 PLACE  /  $3 SHOW.

#8 Hence (Geroux / Asmussen) should contend mightily with the second highest (tie) last out speed number, a six race progression, and four superb peaking workouts. This son of Street Boss has earned a win over an off track giving some cred to continue to move forward.

#13 J Boys Echo (L. Saez / Romans) should surprise with a couple of fine last out efforts and three sturdy workouts. This lad should be tracking the pace ready to spring into the stretch. A son of Mineshaft, distance will be no problem for this guy.

#2 Thunder Snow [IRE] (Soumillion / bin Suroor) will be another that should surprise with a couple of good efforts in Dubai [UAE]. He earned his spot in the gate by virtue of his victory in the UAE Derby last out. This son of Helmet [AUS] is one of several that have been successful over an off track.
