A Turfy Superfecta Sunday along the Jersey Shore

As some of the premiere tracks near the end of their Spring season, there are still some exceptional Turf races as we move deeper into the Summer. On this Superfecta Sunday we take a look at a wonderful Turf race near the Jersey shore.

Monmouth Park Race 9 {Open Mind Stakes~1 1/16 mile~TURF~3 year-old~fillies~Stakes}

A beautiful group of nine fillies will gallop on the green in this featured Stakes race. There is enough speed and forwardly placed types to maintain an honest pace. Speed numbers are fairly close for a sure, competitive feel. All have terrific Turf pedigrees which will make it enjoyable to watch. Our task is to string together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket. It should be one of the smashing Turf races of the day.

#2 Valiance (Juarez / Pletcher) looks to achieve her third victory in a row during her short career. She holds the second highest last out speed number and two sound workouts. This gal has a strong affinity for the Turf and should show great improvement as she challenge this fine group of battle wary gals. A daughter of Tapit, this gal should be forwardly placed ready to strike. She is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.

#9 Beautiful Lover (Bravo / C. Brown) could go off as the favorite as she has rattled off three successive victories. She holds the third highest (tie) last out speed number and three tried and true C. Brown workouts. She loves the Turf and this distance. A beautifully bred daughter of Arch, she will come a running in the closing strides of the race.

#8 La Feve [FR] (Lynch / Motion) should pose a mighty challenge with the fourth highest last out speed number and three superb workouts. She will make her first start over the Jersey Turf. This gal appears to in fine form coming off a modest freshening. A daughter of George Vancouver, she should track the pace closely ready to spring into the stretch.

#6 Karama (Carmouche / Pino) should be the controlling speed of the race and has the potential to don the ski mask and take it on the front end. She holds the highest last out speed number and two fine workouts. This gal loves the Turf and distance. A daughter of Kitten's Joy, she is 100% in the money from three career starts.

Stakes Saturday in Sweet Home Chicago

 On this Stakes Saturday we take a look at a nice sprint on the Poly-track at a that great race track nestled in the leafy Chicago suburbs.

Arlington International Race 8 {Chicago Handicap~G3~7 Furlongs~3 year-old Up~Fillies/Mares~Graded Stakes}

A fabulous field of eight will make their way onto the polytrack in this annual event. There is enough speed to carry the race swiftly forward. The speed numbers are relatively close. A couple of these gals are making their first start after a extended layoffs. It should be one of the great races on a weekend of fantastic racing.

#3 Hotshot Anna (Valdivia / H. Robertson) is the deserved favorite coming off a lengthy layoff after an injury. She holds the highest last out speed number and at the distance. Prior to the layoff she laced together four straight wins. This gal has put in three strong peaking workouts in preparation for this race. A daughter of Trappe Shot, she should race close to the pay and peel away from the crew.
$2 WIN.

#8 Annathela (Edg. Perez / Arnold) should challenge with three decent last out speed numbers over dirt. Her pedigree suggest she may take a liking to the poly. This gal shares the second highest speed number at the distance. Three solid workouts adds to her cache. A daughter of Elusive Quality, she should set herself among the tracking pack ready to strike going into the stretch.

#1 Student Body (S. Doyle / C. Davis) will contend with the fourth highest last out speed number and three superb workouts. This lady holds the highest speed number over the synthetic that resulted in victory. A daughter of Colonel John, she should the speed of the race and could control the pace up front.

#9 Babybluesbdancing (Felix / Gullick) looks to improve after a meaningful layoff. She notched a win over this course and distance to secure the second highest speed number at same. This gal also holds the fourth highest (tie) speed number over the synth. A daughter of Sky Mesa, she is another tracker that will battle for position in the middle running.

Going Long on Superfecta Sunday

Off we go to enjoy a marathon Turf contest in view of the San Gabriel's.

Santa Anita Park Race 8 {San Juan Capistrano~G3~1 3/4 mile~TURF~3 year-old Up~Graded Stakes}

A fine group of eight will jog uphill for the start of this annual closing feature. One gal will challenge the boys. Limited speed creates a European type race where this crew will have a significant quickening as they bound for home. None of these have traveled this distance. Speed figs are fairly similar making it anyone's race. Our task is to loop together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket.
It should be a terrific race as Santa Anita closes its season.

#6 Causeforcommotion (M. Franco / E. Kruljac) is the only mare in the race, but should relish this distance. She shares the second highest speed number over the Turf and fired off two peaking bullet workouts prepping for this race. A daughter of Americain, she should gallop close to the leader and spring into the stretch. She is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.
$2 SHOW.

#8 Oscar Dominguez (Prat / Baltas) should give a good account of himself with the third highest last out speed number and two superb workouts. This lad will be seeking his sixth career victory. A son of Zoffany [IRE], he should be part of the tracking crew ready for the quickening.

#4 Acclimate (M. Garcia / D'Amato) should be the pacesetter by default. This lad holds the fourth highest last out speed number and three robust workouts. He enjoys the Santa Anita turf course. A son of Acclamation, he has been in the money in his last two races.

#1 Mongolian Groom (Gutierrez / Ganbat) is principally a dirt runner, but has won over the Santa Anita Turf. He holds the highest last out speed number and two charged-up peaking workouts. A son of Hightail, he too will part of the trackers.

Stakes Saturday on New Jersey Turf

On this Stakes Saturday we take a look at one of the premiere Turf races of the summer along the Jersey shore.

Monmouth Park Race 11 {United Nations Stakes~G1~1 1/8 mile~TURF~3 year-old Up~Graded Stakes}

A wholesome field of eight will hit the grass in this annual premiere race. There is some speed to keep the pace rolling. Speed numbers are relatively close which should make it quite competitive. It should be a fascinating race.

#1 Bigger Picture (Bravo / Maker) looks to add to his large bank account with the second highest last out speed number at a longer Turf route and three superb peaking workouts. This well traveled lad loves the Monmouth course and the green in general. A son of Badge of Silver, he should be tracking the pace closely and spring into the stretch.
$1 WIN  /  $2 PLACE.

#2 Channel Cat (L. Saez / Pletcher) should be one of the principle challengers with the highest last out speed number and two speedy peaking workouts. This lad should relish the "good" going as he continues to improve with each race. A son of English Channel, he should be forwardly placed ready to get first jump on the leaders heading for home.
$1 PLACE  /  $2 SHOW.

#4 Focus Group (J. Ortiz  /  C. Brown) will contend and may go off as the favorite with the third highest (tie) last out speed number and four sensational peaking workouts. This guy has stroked two wins from three starts at this distance. A son of Kitten's Joy, he should be part of the tracking group ready to roll smoothly into the stretch.

#8 Monarchs Glen [GB] (Lezcano / Mott) should be in the mix with a couple of good last out speed numbers and two gallant peaking workouts. This will be his third North American start. A son of Frankel [GB], he is yet another that will be part of the tracking crew.

Superfecta Sunday on the New York Turf

A very Happy Father's day to sires everywhere.
Off we go for a fabulous Turf race in the city that never sleeps.

Belmont Park Race 8 {Poker~G3~1 mile~TURF~4 year-old Up~Graded Stakes}

A smashing field of nine will enter the green in this annual event. There is enough speed to create an honest pace. It is literally any horse's race as these fellas are equally matched. The speed figures are exceptionally close making it an excellent wagering race. Our task is to string together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket. It should be one of the best races on the day.

#4 Gucci Factor (Rosario / Clement) looks ready to win his third in a row with the second highest (tie) last out speed number. This guy loves the course and distance. A son of Gio Ponti, he should track the pace closely and charge into the stretch. He is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.

#9 Dr. Edgar (D. Davis / Tagg) could go off as the favorite sharing the second highest last out speed number and putting in three solid workouts. He could take charge on the front end as one of three willing to show speed. A son of Lookin at Lucky, he is 100% in the money at this distance from four starts.

#1 Clyde's Image (Castellano / T. Bush) should present a mighty challenge with the highest last out speed number at  a longer route and three dynamic workouts. He does have tactical speed to feel out the pace scenario and adapt accordingly. A son of Get Stormy, he does love this distance and shares the highest speed fig at it.

#8 Breaking the Rules (J. Velazquez / McGaughey) will contend with the third highest speed number at the distance and four superb peaking workouts. This lad enjoys the Belmont course and distance. A son of War Front, he should settle into a nice tracking position and launch into the stretch.

Saturday Evening Stakes Race

We take in a fantastic graded stakes race under the lights beneath the Twinspires for our Stakes Saturday.

Churchill Downs Race 8 {Stephen Foster~G2~1 1/8 mile~3 year-old Up~Graded Stakes}

A wide open field of twelve will go to the gate in this annual event. There is ample speed to maintain an honest pace. Speed numbers are fairly close with a number in this one continuing to improve. Only two millionaires make their appearance. This is a high quality field that should make for a thrilling race.

#6 Gift Box (Rosario / Sadler) ships in from California to meet with these winning foes. He holds the highest last out speed number at a longer route and two superb peaking workouts. This lad has acquitted himself at this distance and has an 81% in the money record from sixteen starts. A son of Twirling Candy he should be striding close to the pace and take first strike on the leaders.

#4 Seeking the Soul (J. Velazquez / D. Stewart) will challenge with three strong last out speed numbers and three supreme workouts. This guy loves the Churchill track finishing 81% in the money from eleven tries. A millionaire son of Perfect Soul [IRE], he will track and close gallantly.

A quality field of eight ladies will hit the Tapeta surface in this annual affair. There is significant speed in this one that has the potential to boil over. Speed numbers are very close among these gals. Our task is to string together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket. 

#7 Devine Mischief (Contreras / McKnight) has the tactical speed to go with these ladies no matter what pace develops. She holds the second highest last out speed number at a slightly longer sprint and two dynamite workouts. A daughter of Into Mischief, she is 75% in the money from twelve starts. Belmont Stakes Day 2019

A great day in New York where the track is fast and the Turf firm. On this Stakes Saturday we take in the big test for the champion three year-olds at magnificent Belmont Park.

Belmont Park Race 11 {Belmont Stakes~G1~1 1/2 mile~3 year-old~Graded Stakes}

A wonderful field of ten will travel to the gate in the third leg of the Triple Crown. There is sufficient speed to render a fluid pace. Speed numbers for this crop are fairly close making it perhaps the most competitive of the Triple Crown races. It should be one of the best races of the day on a card with a plethora of quality races.

#9 War of Will (Gaffalione / Casse) is primed and ready to pull off another victory on this years Triple Crown trail. He holds the second highest last out speed number and has improved in each of his last three races. This son of War Front has the pedigree to meet this distance.

#8 Intrepid Heart (J. Velazquez / Pletcher) is peaking at the right time and will challenge. He holds the fourth highest last out speed number and two quality workouts. He has the tactical speed to adjust to the pace. This lad is 100% in the money from three career starts. A son of Tapit, he has the pedigree to grab this distance.

#3 Master Fencer [JPN] (leparoux / Tsunoda) has the pedigree top and bottom to stay this distance. #5 Bourbon War (M. Smith / Hennig) is another son of Tapit ready to enlarge his daddy's reputation as a sire of long distance runners. This lad looks able to crack the code in this race with a good workout and three good last out speed figs. He should join the crew of closers as they hit the stretch.

Furlong Friday in New York

We open our horse racing weekend with Furlong Friday looking in on a spectacular dirt sprint at "Big Sandy".

Belmont Park Race 8 {True North~G2~6 1/2 Furlongs~4 year-old Up~graded Stakes}

A top-notch group of nine will go to the gate in this annual event. There is plenty of speed to push the pace forward. Speed numbers are very close giving the race a terrifically competitive feel. Only one millionaire, #7 Whitmore, is in this field of high earners. It should be a fantastic race.

#9 Gold for the King (M. Franco / C. Baker) might put forth a big effort coming off a layoff. He holds the third highest speed number at the distance and has put in four powerful peaking workouts in preparation. A son of Posse, he will take quick advantage of a frothy pace.

#7 Whitmore (Santana / Moquett) could be the post time favorite with the second highest last out speed number and two robust workouts. Summer Turf season is upon us. On this Superfecta Sunday we take a look at an excellent mile Turf race in Southern California.

Santa Anita Race 7 {1 mile~TURF~3 year-old~Fillies~Optional Claiming}

A strong field of ten will hit the grass in this feature event. There is enough speed to keep the pace rolling nicely. These gals have speed figures that are exceptionally close. It could be anyone's race. Our task is to knit together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket.

#3 Persephone (Prat / Eurton) might have a slight edge coming into this with the second highest last out speed number and two powerful peaking workouts. She loves the distance and the Santa Anita Turf. A daughter of Real Solution, she should track the pace efficiently and quicken in the stretch. She is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.

Stakes Saturday in Pennsylvania

On this Stakes Saturday we enjoy an exciting Turf mile in legendary Pennsylvania.

Penn National Race 11 {Penn Mile~G2~1 mile~TURF~3 year-old~Graded Stakes}

A nice field of eight will hit the PA Turf in this annual competition. There is some speed to set decent fractions. Speed numbers are very close among this bunch. Not a single one of these hombre's have traveled over the Penn National course. It should be one of the best graded stakes races on the day.

#2 Thread of Blue (L. Saez / McLaughlin) should be able to wire this field in a controlled pace on the front end. He holds the highest last out speed number at a longer route and one solid workout. A son of Hard Spun, he is 100% in the money from three starts at this distance.

#6 The Black Album [FR] (Carmouche / Brisset) should challenge with the third highest last out speed number and two hearty workouts. This lad is 62% in the money over the Turf from eight starts. A son of Wootton Bassett [GB], he should track this crew closely and explode into the stretch.

#9 Fluminense (E. Gonzalez / Asmussen) should contend with the second highest last out speed number at a sprint and two superb peaking workouts. He is 80% in the money from five career starts. A son of More Than Ready he should love getting back onto the Turf. Keeping our thin budget in mind we'll secure a show be on him.

#3 Casa Creed (Alvarado / Mott) appears to be ready to take another step forward with three good last out speed figs and two robust workouts. This guy should be tracking and closing gallantly in the stretch. A son of Jimmy Creed, he holds the second highest (tie) speed number at this distance.
