A superb field of six will trot to the Turf for this annual contest. There is some speed to keep the pace honest. All of these runners are skilled performers over the Turf. It should be a terrific race.

A Little Keeneland Turf for Furlong Friday
On this Furlong Friday we take in a grand Turf sprint at lovely Keeneland.
Keeneland Race 9 {Franklin County Stakes~5 1/2 furlongs~3 year old Up~fillies/mares~Stakes}
A very nice group of fourteen ladies go to the Turf in this Friday feature. There is plenty of speed to encourage a brisk pace. The speed numbers are similar making for a highly competitive contest.
#12 Free as a Bird (Rosario / Wilkes) should have a favorable edge with the third highest (tie) last out speed number, a four race progression, and four superb workouts. This gal should be close to the pace and pounce into the stretch. She is 100% in the money at this distance from five tries.

#13 Sweet Cassiopeia (Rocco / Connelly) should challenge with the fourth highest last out speed number, a tree race progression, and one solid workout. She should be tracking the leading pack ready to strike in the stretch. This gal holds the highest speed number over the Keeneland Turf.
