Sprinting along the Jersey Shore

 On this Superfecta Sunday we look at a great sprint race for New Jersey breds.

Monmouth Park Race 10 {Eleven North Handicap~6 Furlongs~3 year-old Up~Fillies/Mares~NJ Bred~Stakes}

A nice group of ten gals will go to the gate in this featured race.

Past Performances used:  Equibase.

All of these Jersey gals are supremely experienced on the dirt, distance, and Monmouth track. There is plenty of speed to maintain a fast pace. All seem to be well prepped for the race. Speed numbers are very close. It should be a fine race on a great card.

#2 Mias Crusade (P. Lopez / Spina) comes in with the second last out speed number at a route and one solid workout. She should track the pace closely. This gal leads the group with the highest number of wins. A daughter of Greenpointcrusader, she is 69% in the money from twenty-three starts.

$2 WIN  /  $3 PLACE  /  $5 SHOW.

#7 Bel Pensiero (Moya / Margotta) comes in with a good last out speed number at a route and four strong workouts. She should be forwardly placed. This gal has superb in the money records on the dirt, at the distance, and over the track. A daughter of Army Mule, she is 65% in the money from twenty starts.

#8 Beach Daze (A. Bowman / Mann) also comes in with a good last out speed number at a route and one sound route. She has hit the board in all of her eight starts at this distance. Look for her to track the pace. A daughter of Blofeld, she is 78% in the money from thirty-two starts.

#5 Jewel of the Ocean (Camacho / Spina) comes in with the fourth highest last out speed number and one decent workout. She has the tactical speed to hang with the pace. She looks to continue to improve in her fifth start. A daughter of Sea Wizard, she is 100% in the money from four starts.

Stakes Saturday for Jersey Breds

On this Stakes Saturday we take in a nice race along the Jersey shore. Summer is made for horse racing though sometimes the fields are not as robust.

Monmouth Park Race 9 {Irish War Cry Handicap~1 mile~3 year-old Up~NJ~Stakes}

A reduced field of six as this one comes off the Turf. These reliable lads will go a mile on the main track. Two thirds of the field is composed of speedsters which might benefit the off the pace two. Speed numbers are fairly close making it a competitive event despite the short field. It should be a great race on this last weekend in July.

#8 Golden Brown (P. Lopez / McBurney) should go off as the deserved favorite with the third highest last out speed number and two solid workouts. He does hold the highest speed number at the distance. A son of Offlee Wild, he should be running close to the pace and spring into the stretch in good position. This guy is 58% in the money from twenty-one career starts.
$1 WIN  /  $2 PLACE  /  $3 SHOW.

#5 Premdini (Diaz / Carvajal) will challenge coming off a dirt sprint in which scored the highest last out speed number among this field. He has posted one peaking workout anticipating this third race of his form cycle. A son of Dance with Ravens, he should be part of the pace team. This lad is 70% in the money from twenty career starts.
$1 PLACE  /  $2 SHOW.

#3 Royal Urn (Bravo / Breen) has improved in each of his last three races. He holds the second highest last out speed number and two sound workouts. This five year-old gelding also holds the second highest speed number at the distance. A son of Kantharos, he is in great position to take advantage of any hotly contest pace with a strong tracking/closing running style.
$1 SHOW.

#7 Optic Way (W. Garcia / Ryan) is another that should be part of the speedy group on the front end. He comes out of a dirt sprint stakes with a good speed number and one peaky bullet workout. A son of Cable Boy, he is 71% in the money from twenty-four career starts.
