Santa Anita Park Race 6 {6 furlongs~4 year-old Up~CA~Allowance Optional Claiming}

A great crew of six will compete in this six furlong sprint. There is plenty of speed and forwardly placed types to maintain a speedy pace. Speed numbers are fairly close with a few in here having hit the triple digit level. It should be a fun race to wager and watch.

#4 Sam Slick (Pereira / Kozak) is coming off a long layoff but looks well prepped to take on this tough and tumble group. He holds the second highest speed number at the distance and has put in four supreme workouts. This lad has a good in the money record of 83% from six starts. He should travel close to the pace and move forwardly into the stretch.
$2 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#1 Gutsy Ruler (Bejarano / Sierra) could go off as a co-favorite with the second highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and one solid workout. He should be forwardly placed ready to swoop through the stretch. This guy is 100% in the money at this distance from four starts.

#2 Prime Issue (Elliott / Miller) should be the other favorite with the highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and three superb peaking workouts. He should battle on the front end looking to boldly move on into the stretch.

#6 City State (Van Dyke / Jacobson) should challenge with the third highest last out speed number and four quality workouts. He has the tactical speed to move along nicely near the front end. This guy holds the highest speed number over the Santa Anita track.
