Furlong Friday at the Fair Grounds ep. 2

 We go to the lucky last on today's Fair Grounds card where the track is sloppy.

Fair Grounds Race 8 {6 Furlongs~3 year-old Up~LA bred~Maiden Claiming}

A robust field of eleven will go to the gate in this Maiden sprint.

Past Performances used:  Equibase.

There is sufficient speed to keep the pace rolling. Speed numbers are fairly close for these geldings. Only four have not raced over the Fair Grounds track. It should be a good race for an attempt to grow the bankroll.

#4 Lincoln Production (Graham / Duhon) scores the second highest last out speed number at a longer sprint. He likes the distance and the track. Look for him to track the pace and strike in the stretch. A son of Run Production, he is 40% in the money from five starts.

$1 WIN  /  $2 PLACE  /  $3 SHOW.

#9 Shawns Solving (R. Gutierrez / Calhoun) comes out of a route race at Delta Downs. He should show speed. A quality workout in the last thirty days should help him. This guy is the favorite. A son of Custom for Carlos, he is 25% in the money from four starts.

#5 Samurai's Grandson (Nieves / Govea) cuts back one furlong and has one solid workout. He hit the board in his last at Louisiana Downs. This gelding will run over the Fair Grounds track for the first time. Look for him to track the pace closely. A son of Star Guitar, he is 50% in the money from four starts.

#1 Vero Campione (Murray / Duke) will try this distance for the first time with the fourth highest (tie) last out speed number and two hearty peaking workouts. He is another that will track the pace closely. A son of Awesome Again, he is 27% in the money from eleven starts.
