To the Turf for Superfecta Sunday

On this Superfecta Sunday we take in a very nice Turf stakes race in New York.

Belmont Park Race 8 {License Fee~6 Furlongs~inner TURF~4 year-old Up~Fillies/Mares~Stakes}

A reduced field of seven will hit the grass in this annual affair. There is enough speed to insure a solid pace. Speed numbers are fairly close making this a competitive event. Most in this one are experienced sprinters. Our task is to sew together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket.

#1 Stormy Victoria [FR] (Rosario / Clement) should be well positioned to chase down the leaders for a victory. She holds the third highest last out speed number at a mile route and one hearty workout. This gal is 100% in the money over the Belmont Turf. A daughter of Stormy River [FR], she comes up from Gulf Stream Park where she ran 5th in a grade 3 event. She is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.
$1 SHOW.

#2 Jennifer Lynette (Castellano / Casse) should challenge with the fourth highest (tie) last out speed number and two sizzling bullet workouts. This will be her first try over the Belmont Turf. A daughter of Elusive Quality, she holds the second highest speed number at the distance. With her tactical speed she could be forwardly placed ready to strike.

#6 Nisha (Bravo / J. Englehart) should contend sharing the fourth highest last out speed number, working a two race progression, and putting in two sound peaking workouts. She has recorded a win over the Belmont Turf in her only attempt so far. A daughter of First Samurai, she could wire the field seeking fourth win in a row.

#7 Lady Alexander (J. Ortiz / Motion) is coming off an extended layoff with three robust workouts. She last raced at Saratoga. This gal has recorded two wins over the Belmont Turf from three tries. A daughter of More Than Ready, she should take up a nice tracking positon and move gracefully into the stretch.

A great group of seven will go to the gate in this evenly matched sprint. There is speed to ensure a solid pace heading into the turn. Speed figs are fairly close which should make it a grand handicapping venture. A fantastic sprint race for opening day at the "Big Sandy".

#4 Sandy Belle (McCarthy / Schosburg) is coming off a brief freshening with the third highest (tie) last out speed number and four solid workouts. She posts the highest speed fig at the distance and enjoys the Belmont track. This gal has the speed to take them wire to wire.

Superfecta Sunday at Rainy Keeneland

We were hoping for a couple of great Turf races down at Keeneland, but rain intervened. We will look at a nice race that comes off the Turf.

Keeneland Race 5 {1 1/8 mile~OFF the TURF~4 year-old Up~Allowance}

The field has been reduced to six in this high quality event. Consequently, we will chuck our usual Superfecta Sunday box and create a prudent 10 CENT Superfecta ticket. There are a few in this one that like to be forwardly placed which should yield a good quickening heading into the stretch. Speed numbers are very close. The remaining group of six should make a very competitive event.

#5 Team Colors (Geroux / Sweazy) might have the edge with the highest speed number over wet conditions and two solid peaking workouts. Also, he holds the highest speed number at the distance. A son of Street Cry [IRE], he should track and close gallantly. He is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.
$1 SHOW.

#10 Jess I Am (Bridgmohan / B. Cox) will challenge with the second highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and two hearty workouts. He is another that has raced confidently over wet, holding a 50% in the money record from four runs. A son of Eskendreya, he could be the pace setter.
