Superfecta Sunday Deep in the Heart of Texas

Another summer Superfecta Sunday rolls in. We take a look at a fantastic race down in Texas.

Lone Star Park Race 10 {Texas Thoroughbred Futurity Stakes~5 Furlongs~2 year-old~TX~Stakes}

Two scratches leave us with a field of ten quality youngsters. There is plenty of speed for this sprint. Speed numbers for these colts and geldings are all over the map. All except two will be making their second career start. Our task is to stitch together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta ticket. It should be a fascinating race.

#6 Stupify (Ir. Diego / Asmussen) looks for the lead and not look back. He holds the second highest last out speed number and three superb peaking workouts. A son of Twirling Candy, he will be going for his second straight win. He is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.
$2 SHOW.

#4 BB Dude (Santana / Asmussen) will challenge his barn mate with the highest last out speed number and three terrific peaking wokouts. This lad should be forwardly placed seeking to strike heading into the stretch. A son of Shakin It Up, he comes in from Churchill Downs.

#7 Wakefield (Eramia / Broberg) should also challenge with the third highest last out speed number and three hearty peaking workouts. This guy will race close to pace and sprout in the stretch. A son of Munnings, he is also seeking his second career win.

#11 Moro Charlie (Wade / Calhoun) should be in the thick of things sharing the fourth highest last out speed number and holding three strong peaking workouts. He should track the pace and could benefit greatly if it boils over. A son of Moro Tap, he has already hit the board at Lone Star.

Indiana Grand R9.  Indiana Derby--G3. Our first pick, Title Ready, finished 3rd for show money of $10.00.  Our second pick, Dark Vader, finished 5th.  Our third pick, Trigger Warning, finished 2nd for show money of $4.80.
Superfecta went 6-1-7-8.
Bankroll gets nicked for three and change dropping to $209.10.

Stakes Saturday Tonight in Indiana

With Saratoga and Del Mar looming on the horizon, we take in another fine Derby race in Indiana.

Indiana Grand Race 9 {Indiana Derby~G3~1 1/16 mile~3 year-old~Graded Stakes}

A solid field of nine will take to the gate in this annual graded route. There is plentiful speed to keep the pace humming. Speed numbers are very close which should create a competitive event. Only one in here has ever raced over the Indiana dirt which makes it any horses race. It should be a high quality event under the lights.

#7 Title Ready (Santana / Asmussen) might have the edge sharing the second highest last out speed number at a slightly longer route, working a three race progression, and putting in two strong workouts. This son of More Than Ready should track the pace closely and strike in going into the stretch.
$2 WIN  /  $3 PLACE  /  $5 SHOW.

#4 Dark Vader (Nakatani / Eurton) comes in from California to challenge with the third highest last out speed number and three wicked good workouts. No slouch at this distance he holds the second highest speed number at it. A son of Tale of Ekati, he could be forwardly placed positioned to get first jump on the leaders.
$2 PLACE / $3 SHOW.

#1 Trigger Warning (Rosendo / Rone) looks ready to tackle this distance and hit the board on his third attempt. He shares the second highest last out speed number at a slightly longer route, is working a five race progression, and has put in one quality workout. A son of Candy Ride [ARG], he should battle near the front end as they turn for home.
$2 SHOW.

#8 King Zachary (Albarado / Romans) should go off as the deserved favorite with the highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and two superb workouts. This guy leads the field with an 83% in the money record from six starts. A son of Curlin, he should be tracking the field closely ready to spring into the stretch.

Belmont Park R7.  The River Memories.  We misfired on our 10 CENT Superfecta Box effort, hitting only two of four wagering interests. Superfecta went 2-8-1-7.
Our Bronze Horseshoe runner, Silver Step [FR], finished 6th.
Bankroll takes a hit falling to $212.55.

Superfecta Sunday Near the Surf

On this Superfecta Sunday we peer in on the West Coast for a dazzling graded stakes race where the Turf meets the Surf.

Del Mar Thoroughbred Club Race 9 {Eddie Read~G2~1 1/8 mile~TURF~3 year-old Up~Graded Stakes}

A lively group of nine will hit the Turf in this annual affair. There is enough speed to keep an honest pace. Speed numbers are fairly close making it a competitive event. Any one of them could pull off the victory. Our task is to string together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket. Today we will scale up to level four for our Bronze Horseshoe selection.

#1 Ashelyluvssugar (Stevens / Eurton) should sweeten the deal with the second highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and three stout workouts. He should track the pace closely seeking to strike in the stretch. This guy is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.
$4 SHOW.

#2 Flamboyant [FR] (Prat / Gallagher) is coming off a modest layoff after traveling to Dubai, [UAE] to capture a bit of coin finishing fifth in the Dubai Turf. He holds the highest speed number at this distance and has put in four superb peaking workouts. He should track and close efficiently.

#6 Finnegans Wake (T. Baze / Miller) should contend with a suitable pace. He holds a couple of nice last out performances, a three race progression, and three strong peaking workouts. This veteran millionaire should be closing gallantly in the stretch.

#8 Patentar [FR] (A. Quinonez / Callaghan) could surprise with a couple of good last out speed numbers, a three race progression, and three hearty workouts. He should be part of the tracking crew that loves this distance.

An Indiana Stakes Saturday

We look in on a terrific Indiana Derby for our Stakes Saturday race.

Indiana Grand Race 9 {Indiana Derby~G2~1 1/16 mile~3 year-old~Graded Stakes}

A very good field of twelve will go to the gate in this superb graded stakes race. There is sufficient speed to carry the field through honest fractions. Speed figures are fairly close with the vast majority of this field in fine form. The field is comprised of four who were Triple Crown nominees. It should be an exciting late night race.

#12 Star Hill (Lanerie / Arnold) could take another step forward with the highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and three hearty workouts. He should be tracking and closing swiftly down the lane. This son of Elusive Quality is 75% in the money from eight starts.
$2 WIN  /  $3 PLACE  /  $4 SHOW.

#2 Cherry Wine (L. Saez / Romans) loves this distance having secured his two career wins at it. He holds the second highest last out speed number at a longer route and two serious workouts. Expect him to close like a freight train. A son of Paddy O'Prado, he is 60% money from ten starts.
$2 PLACE  /  $3 SHOW.

#5 The Player (Bridgmohan / Bradley) is seeking his third win in a row. He holds the third highest (3-way tie) last out speed number, a four race progression, and three powerful workouts. He has the tactical speed to fit the pace. A son of Street Hero, he is 75% in the money from four career starts.
$2 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#3 Pilot House (Bracho / Amoss) should be in contention with the fourth highest last out speed number, a five race progression, and two robust workouts. This guy is one of three that have traveled over the Indiana track. He should be forwardly placed ready to strike. A son of Midshipman, he holds three victories from seven starts.

#11 Cupid (Bejarano / Baffert) is the class of the field with the highest speed number at the distance coupled with two wins from three starts at it. He holds a couple of decent last out speed numbers which would put him in contention with this field. This guy has possibly the best workout tab with four superior peaking works. A son of Tapit, he has the tactical speed to go the distance.
