Up Noth for Some Good Stakes Saturday Action

 We venture up North for a good Stakes sprint over the Tapeta.

Woodbine Race 6 {Ballade Stakes~6 Furlongs~4 year-old Up~Fillies/Mares~Ontario Bred~Stakes}

A splendid field of ten will go to the gate in this annual affair.

This truly competitive field sports speed figs that are very close. Interestingly, Sire Souper Speedy, has five daughters in the field. There is plenty of speed to keep the pace rolling. It should be one of the best stakes races on the day.

Stakes Saturday at Monmouth Park

 We journey (virtually, of course) to the Jersey shore for some fine racing. On this Stakes Saturday we look in on a fantastic dirt mile.

Monmouth Park Race 12 {Salvator Mile~G3~1 mile~3 year-old Up~Graded Stakes}

The field has been whittled down to eight milers.

This race has plenty of speed to produce a swift pace. Speed figs are very close with the entire field hitting at least one triple digit in their lifetimes. All will be hitting the Monmouth track for the first time. It should be a great race.

#8 Nimitz Class (Toledo / Kravets) comes in from Parx looking for his sixth win in a row. He should be forwardly placed ready to battle for position. Belmont Stakes Day 2023

 A fantastic day of racing will unfold in the "Big Apple" as we focus in on the third jewel of the Triple Crown.

Belmont Park Race 12 {Belmont Stakes~G1~1 1/2 mile~3 year-old~graded Stakes}

A talented field of nine will go to the gate in the penultimate race on a glorious Belmont card.

Once again a Triple Crown race comes up a little light on speed. Speed figures, however, are fairly close for this crop of three year-olds. Only two have traveled over  "Big Sandy", both notching wins over the surface. All have been well prepped for this "Test of a Champion". It should be an excellent running of the Belmont.

#8 Angel of Empire (Prat / B. Cox) has progressed nicely in each of his last three starts. He holds the the highest last out speed number and has put in three tremendous workouts. This guy will close into the pace as they turn for home. A son of Classic Empire, he is 85% in the money from seven starts.

Superfecta Sunday Turf near the Jersey Shore

 On this beautiful Superfecta Sunday we look in on a fantastic Turf race near the Jersey Shore.

Monmouth Park Race 10 {1 1/16 mile~TURF~3 year-old/4 year-old~Claiming}

A very nice field of ten will go to the Jersey green in this superb claiming race.

There is some speed and forwardly placed types to keep an honest pace. Speed figs are fairly close making it super competitive. Half the field has not raced over the Monmouth course. All look well prepped to run a fine race. As the penultimate on the Monmouth card, it should be a fantastic race to wager and watch.

#5 Crafty King (Ferrer / G. Bennett) will stretch out to this distance which he should enjoy. This lad holds the second highest (tie) last out speed number and two workman like works. He should track the pace and get it on in the stretch. A son of American Pharoah, he is 42% in the money from seven career starts.
