San Francisco Mile on Stakes Saturday

 Off we go to the city by the bay to look in on a terrific Turf mile.

Golden Gate Fields Race 11 {San Francisco Mile~G3~1 mile~TURF~3 year-old Up~Stakes}

A solid field of nine will hit the green in this annual contest.

This race has a good amount of speed to produce a hot pace. Speed figs are very close making it quite competitive. Only three have raced over the Golden Gate course. The balance are coming up from Southern California. All have competed over the Turf at various tracks. It should be the best Stakes race on a Saturday with a dearth of Stakes races.

#2 Balnikhov [IRE] (Rispoli / D'Amato) comes up from Santa Anita having finished seventh in a grade one last out. He loves the surface and the distance. Look for him to close magnificently into a dazzling pace. A son of Adaay [IRE], he is 68% in the money from sixteen career starts.

$2 WIN  /  $3 PLACE  /  $5 SHOW.

#9 Dicey Mo Chara [GB] (Van Dyke / Powell) should be the favorite with the highest last out speed number and two stout workouts. He should be forwardly placed. This guy also comes up from Santa Anita as well. Another son of Adaay [IRE], he is 63% in the money from nineteen career starts.

$2 PLACE  /  $3 SHOW.

#8 Flavius (E. Roman / Papaprodromou) comes into this race after over a year layoff. His workout tab of four super powerful works indicates he is ready for launch. He holds the highest speed number at the distance. A son of War Front, he is 63% in the money from nineteen career starts.

Other Wagering Interests

#4 Bob and Jackie (Valdivia / Papaprodromou) is another that loves the surface and distance. He holds the fourth highest (tie) last out speed number and two sound workouts. Another invader from Santa Anita. Look for him to make good use of his tactical speed. A son of Twirling Candy, he is 61% in the money from twenty-one career starts.

#3 Rio King (S. Rivera / Calvario) seeks his fourth win in a row from a tracking position. He enjoys the surface, distance, and course. This colt holds the second highest last out speed number at a longer route and two good workouts. A son of Bal A Bali [BRZ], he is 50% in the money from twelve career starts.

#6 Lamplighter Jack (Cedillo / Barocio) will show speed on a surface and distance he relishes. This gelding holds the third highest last out speed number and two hearty workouts. A son of Fed Biz, he is 62% in the money from twenty-four career starts.

Furlong Friday at Belmont Park

On to the Turf we go. For this Furlong Friday we take in a nice Turf Sprint at beautiful Belmont Park.

Belmont Park Race 9 {Sir Cat Stakes~6 Furlongs~3 year-old~Stakes}

A fine group of seven Turf sprinters will hit the grass in this feature stakes race. There is plenty of speed to get this one off to ripping start. Speed numbers are very close making it a competitive one. It should be a smashing race.

#5 Turned Aside (J. Lezcano / L. Rice) is coming off an extended layoff with the second highest last out speed number among this group and two bullet workouts. This guy loves the distance and the Belmont course. A son of American Pharoah, he should be forwardly placed near the leaders.
$2 WIN  /  $3 SHOW.

#2 Jack and Noah [FR] (J. Velazquez / M. Casse) should challenge with the highest (tie) last out speed number and one solid workout. This guy has already notched two wins at this distance from three tries. A son of Bated Breath [GB], he should be the speed of the field.

#7 Chimney Rock (J. Ortiz / Maker) will contend with the highest last out speed number and two sound workouts. This guy is sitting as the favorite at this writing. He is 78% in the money from nine career starts. It is his first start at this distance. A son of Artie Schiller, he should be forwardly placed.

#8 So Street (McCarthy / Ness) should be in the mix with a 100% in the money record over the Turf from four starts. He comes in fresh off an extended layoff with two superb peaking workouts. This son of Street Magician, should be forwardly placed with a 72% in the money record from seven career starts.

Superfecta Sunday in San Francisco

Another superb Superfecta Sunday and we look at a Turf race in San Francisco.

Golden Gate Fields Race 8 {San Francisco Mile~G3~1 mile~TURF~3 year-old Up~Graded Stakes}

A swell field of eight will journey onto the Turf in this annual graded event. The field consists of seven geldings and one mare. There is plenty of speed to create a driving pace. Speed figures are fairly close making for a very nice competitive race. All but one have some recency to their racing. Our task is to weld together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta Box ticket. It should be a fantastic race.

#5 Simply Breathless [GB] (R. Gonzalez / Drysdale) looks like she might best these lads coming out a longer route and putting in three hearty workouts. She holds the third highest speed number (4-way tie) at the distance combined with a 82% in the money record at same from eleven tries. A daughter of Bated Breath [GB], she should be tracking the pace ready to head into the stretch with flourish. She is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.
$2 SHOW.

#3 Majestic Eagle (Rispoli / Drysdale) is the only one with a modest layoff. He holds a couple of good last out speed numbers and five strong peaking workouts. This newly minted gelding shares the third highest speed number at the distance with a 62% in the money record. A son of Medaglia d'Oro, he should be among the forwardly placed crew.

#4 Murad Khan [FR] (Frey / O'Neill) should challenge with the fourth highest last out speed number and two hearty peaking workouts. This gelding also shares that third highest pseed number at the distance sporting a 62% in the money record at same. A son of Raven's Pass, he should also be forwardly placed.

#6 Kiwi's Dream [AUS] (JJ Hernandez / Trujillo) should contend with the second highest last out speed number and two speedy peaking workouts. This lad could be speed that leads them all out of the gate seeking to perform a wire job. A son of Sebring [AUS], he is 75% in the money from twelve career starts.

Churchill Downs R11.  Louisville--G3.  Our first pick, Arklow, finished 2nd for place money of $5.10 and show money of $7.00.  Our second pick, Tiz a Slam, finished 6th.  Our third pick, Fearsome [GB], finished 10th.
We flubbed our $1 Saturday Exacta Wheel.
Superfecta went 12-5-4-11 in which we had only two wagering interests in our 10 CENT Superffecta box play.
Bankroll takes a dive to $170.28.

Superfecta Sunday Deep in the Heart of Texas

On this Superfecta Sunday, we take a look at a nice Turf mile deep in the heart of Texas.

Lone Star Park Race 8 {1 mile~TURF~3 year-old Up~Fillies/Mares~Claiming}

A great field of twelve will take to the green in this Turf mile. There is plenty of speed to keep the pace humming. Speed numbers are relatively close. It should be a competitive affair. Our task is to string together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket.

#1 Venus de Milo (McMahon / Calhoun) should be able to handle this field well with the highest speed number at the distance and one solid workout. Overall she is 51% in the money from thirty-seven starts. This gal has the speed to control the pace to her liking. She is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.
$2 SHOW.

#8 Kitchen Boss (Diego / Asmussen) will challenge with a couple of decent last out speed numbers and three hearty workouts. She holds the second highest speed number at the distance. She should close vigorously.

#9 Dominika {MEX] (Arellano / Whitelaw) should contend with the second highest last out speed number and two robust peaking workouts. This gal holds the highest speed number over the Lone Star course. She should be forwardly place positioning for a score.

#11 Cactus Needles (Sigala / Davidson) should be in the hunt with the highest last out speed number. This gal looks in fine form as she transitions from a couple of last out dirt races to the Turf. She should fine a comfortable spot just off the pace.

Stakes Saturday by the Bay

Stakes Saturday and we take in a later Turf mile near the bay.

Golden Gate Fields Race 8 {San Francisco Mile~G3~1 Mile~TURF~3 year-old Up~Graded Stakes}

A tremendous group of thirteen will take to the grass in this feature race. There is enough speed to keep the pace going. Speed numbers are fairly close insuring a greatly competitive event. These lads have traveled the Turf at the mile distance in fine fashion. It should one of the most exciting races of the day.

#12 Bal a Bali [BRZ] (Prat / Mandella) should go off as the favorite with the second highest last out speed number and four superb peaking workouts. This lad sports the second highest speed number at the distance. A son of Put It Back, he should track the pace confidently.
$2 WIN  /  $3 PLACE.

#5 Montego Bay (Van Dyke / Drysdale) will challenge with the third highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and three power workouts. He does like the distance and the Golden Gate course. A son of War Chant, he is another that should track and close capably.
$2 SHOW.

#11 Alert Bay (T. Baze / Wright) is the only millionaire in the field. This guy holds the highest speed number at the mile distance. He shows a couple of good last out speed numbers and two dynamic peaking workouts. This gelded son of City Zip could be near the leaders seeking a good running position.
$2 SHOW.

Another Wagering Interest

#6 Perfectly Majestic (Cedillo / Hess) appears to be in fine form and should contend. This boy holds a couple of very good last out speed numbers, a two race progression, and two strong workouts. He loves this distance earing an 85% in the money record from seven runs. A son of Majestic Perfection, he should track and close into a swift pace.
