Superfecta Sunday in Oklahoma

On this Superfecta Sunday we take in possibly one of the best race of the horse racing weekend down in the great State of Oklahoma.

Remington Park Race 12 {Oklahoma Derby~G3~1 1/8 mile~3 year-old~Graded Stakes}

A great field of eleven will go to the gate in this annual Derby race. There is some speed to take the pack through decent fractions. Speed figures are fairly close with a few head and withers above the rest. A few in here are approaching millionaire status and a win, place, or show could put them into that rarefied rank. Our task is to lasso a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket.

#10 Mucho Gusto (Talamo / Baffert) looks to be the one to beat with the highest last out speed number and three superlative workouts. This guy is 100% in the money from nine career starts. A son of Mucho Macho Man, he should be forwardly placed looking to crush this field.

#11 Owendale (Geroux / B. Cox) should pose a serious threat with the third highest last out speed number and a group of three scintillating works that include a couple of bullets. This lad has a win at this distance in his only run at it. A son of Into Mischief , he will be closing gallantly in the stretch.

#3 Bankit (Santana / Asmussen) should contend with the fourth highest last out speed number and three hearty peaking workouts. This lad has done well at the distance and over the Remington track. A son of Central Banker, he is another closer that should bring the battle to the stretch. He is out Bronze Horseshoe selection.

#7 Chess Chief (Mena / Stewart) has been showing improved speed numbers in his last three races and has put together two strong workouts. This guy could surprise. Another son of Into Mischief, he will be tracking the pace ready to strike.

Stakes Saturday Turf along the Jersey Shore

A nice Fall day for some Turf action along the Jersey Shore.

Monmouth Park Race 9 {Violet Stakes~1 1/16 mile~TURF~3 year-old Up~Fillies/Mares~Stakes}

A reduced field of nine will hit the grass in this splendid stakes race. There is enough speed to maintain a quick pace. Speed numbers are very close making it a competitive event. All have experience at this distance and three are looking forward to race on the Monmouth Turf for the first time. It should be a great race.

#8 Candy Store [IRE] (P. Lopez / Clement) might have the edge with the tactical speed she holds. This gal has the third highest last out speed number and two superb peaking workouts. A daughter of Lope De Vega [IRE], she acquitted herself nicely in her only run at this distance.

#11 Barkaa [FR] (Bravo / C. Brown) should challenge with the fourth highest (tie) last out speed number and four diligent workouts. She will be coming into this race fresh off a modest layoff. A Kentucky Superfecta Sunday

On the cusp of the first day of Fall, we take a look at a smashing Maiden Claiming sprint down in Kentucky.

Churchill Downs Race 5 {6 Furlongs~3 year-old Up~Maiden Claiming}

A good group of ten maidens will launch from the gate seeking their first win. Three first time starters make their appearance here which will make the race much more intriguing from a handicapping perspective. Of those who have run, the speed numbers are fairly close. There is sufficient speed to keep this race on high cruise. Our task is to net a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket.

#10 Greenspan (Gaffalione / Fawkes) might have a tiny edge with the third highest speed number at the distance and four tidy workouts. He comes in from Indiana Grand for his third career start. A son of Fed Biz, he should show speed from the opening of the gate.

#2 Superado (Leparoux / Wilkes) is a first time starter well prepped with four robust workouts. He was a 170k yearling purchase at Keeneland. A son of Kentucky Derby winner, Supersaver with top notch connections. This lad is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.
$2 SHOW.

#8 Yabba Dabba Dude (Graham / C. Silva) will be making his twelve start all the while making a slight drop in both class and distance. It could be a needed wake up for the lad. He does hold the fourth highest speed number at the distance and has put in one strong workout. A son of Awesome Again, he should be motoring on or near the front end.

#9 Super Terrific (Lanerie / McGee) could go off as the favorite with the highest last out speed number and two stout workouts. He is 100% in the money over the Churchill track from three starts. Another son of Super Saver, he will need some pace to be able to close them all down.

Stakes Saturday in Pennsylvania

On this Stakes Saturday we take in a splendid race for the ladies in the great state of Pennsylvania.

A top flight group of eleven fillies will go to the gate in this annual affair. There is plenty of speed to guarantee a swift pace. Speed numbers are extremely close making for a superbly competitive event. Any of these gals could pull off the victory. There are three millionaires in the race and each of them will impact the running. It should be the most exciting stakes race of the day.

#10 Bellafina (Prat / Callaghan) might have the edge with three solid last out speed numbers and four powerful workouts. She has two victories at this distance from three starts. This millionaire daughter of Quality Road, holds the fourth highest speed number (tie) at the distance. This gal has the most wins of the group (six) and is 80% in the money from ten career starts.

Superfecta Sunday Turf on Dueling Grounds

Nothing better than a little Kentucky Turf on a Superfecta Sunday.

Kentucky Downs Race 9 {Dueling Grounds Derby~1 5/16 mile~TURF~3 year-old~Stakes}

An excellent field of ten will run on the adulating course in this annual event. The race comes up deficient on speed. However, there are a number in here that like to track the pace closely. It looks like it will be run like a Euro race with a significant quickening entering into the stretch. Speed numbers are very close which could make it any one of these lads race to win. Our task is to thread together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket. It should be a spectacularly exciting race.

#6 Channel Island (Gaffalione / Maker) might have the edge having run a slightly longer race in his last and earning the second highest last out speed number. He added to that effort three superb peaking workouts. This guy is 60% in the money from five career starts. A son of English Channel, he should be tracking and strike in the stretch.

#9 Journeyman (Graham / Harty) is coming down from Canada where he had a hard beat (DQ'd) in the Canadian Derby. This guy holds the fourth highest last out speed number and two robust workouts. He has improved in each of his last three races. A 100% in the money record from seven career starts adds to his luster. Belmont Park R10.  Jockey Club Derby Invitational.  Our first pick, Spanish Mission, won (1st) for win money of $3.10, place money of $4.60, and show money of $5.25. Our second pick, Digital Age [IRE], finished off the board.  Our third pick, San Huberto [IRE], finished 3rd for show money of $3.65.
We captured our $1 Saturday Exacta Wheel with out top pick Spanish Mission and our fourth pick Pedro Cara [FR] finishing second. It earned us $57.75.
Superfecta went 9-4-5-1.
Bankroll takes a nice leap to $74.42.

Long on the Turf for Stakes Saturday

On this Stake Saturday we go long on the Turf for the opening weekend of the Fall Championship season at Belmont.

Belmont Park Race 10 {Jockey Club Derby Invitational~1 1/2 mile~TURF~3 year-old~Stakes}

A very good field of nine will take to the Turf in this million dollar stakes race. It does come up a little light on speed, but a few in here are capable of tracking the pace closely. Three Euros come in from across the pond to challenge the North American based turfers. Speed numbers are fairly close. It could be any one of these lads race.

#9 Spanish Mission (Spencer / Simcock) should do well against this field coming out of a Group three in Great Britain. He loves the surface and the distance. This lad is 83% in the money from six career starts. A son of Noble Mission [GB], he should track and close gallantly.

#8 Digital Age [IRE] (Castellano / C. Brown) should go off as the favorite with the second highest last out speed number and three robust workouts. Holiday Monday Racing Action in Pennsylvania

Enjoying a nice Holiday Monday off with some Turf action in Pennsylvania.

A smashing field of eleven will engage in this featured Turf sprint. There is plenty of speed to make the pace hot. Speed figs are fairly close with many in here hitting the elusive triple digit. Only one millionaire in the group,Pure Sensation, who will undoubtedly be the favorite. It should be one of the most exciting races on this Labor Day.

#11 Pure Sensation (P. Lopez / Clement) checks all the boxes and should go off as the favorite with the highest speed number and one serious bullet workout. He holds a 100% in the money record at Parx from seven starts. A son of Zensational, he should battling with the large contingent of forwardly placed runners.

Let's go Down to Ellis for Superfecta Sunday

On this Superfecta Sunday we take in a nice dirt sprint down at Ellis Park.

Ellis Park Race 9 {6 furlongs~3 year-old Up~Fillies/Mares~Allowance}

A good field of eight will go to the gate in this allowance feature. There is plenty of speed to bring the pace to a boil. Speed numbers are very close, making it a competitive event. Our task will be to hook together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket. It should be a solid race.

#4 A. P. Princess (Graham / Barkley) is one of a number in here coming out of a route race and looking step into a sprint. She holds a good in the money record at 60% from ten career starts. This gal loves the surface and appreciate the cut-back. A daughter of Flatter, she should be forwardly placed prepared to pounce. She is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.

#8 Veiled Vixen (T. Baze / Hobby) could go off as the favorite with the third highest (tie) last out speed number at a route and two dynamite workouts. She appears to be in excellent form and has the advantage of holding close to the speedsters. A daughter of Eskendreya, she should relish the surface and distance.

#2 Midnight Karma (Court / Stinson) should engage in the speed battle from the opening of the gates. She holds the second highest last out speed number at a slightly longer sprint and one steady workout. This gal enjoys the surface and the Ellis Park track. A daughter of Violence, she is 50% in the money from eight career starts.

#6 Take Charge Erica (Gazader / Shorter) should contend as she has improved nicely in each of her three last races securing the highest last out speed number of this group. This lady has also been victorious in each of her two starts at Ellis Park. A daughter of Take Charge Indy, she should be part of the group running on the front end.

Saratoga R11.  Woodward--G1. Our first pick, Preservationist, won (1st) for win money of $4.05, place money of $5.10, and show money of $5.40.  Our second pick, Tom's d'Etat, finished 4th.  Our third pick, Vino Rosso, was scratched.
We failed in our $1 Saturday Exacta Wheel, getting the winner, but not having the second place horse.
Due to the scratch, we scuttled our 10 CENT Superfecta box effort. Superfecta went 5-2-7-9.
Bankroll catches a rise to $12.17.
