Stakes Saturday in Canada

 On this Stakes Saturday we look at a nice Turf race up North of the Border.

Woodbine Race 8 {Overskate Stakes~7 1/2 furlongs~TURF~3 year-old Up~Ontario Bred~Stakes}

An excellent field of ten will hit the grass in this Canadian Turf stakes.

This talented field of Ontario sired includes a couple of ladies that will show great effort against the lads. There is a couple of speedsters to create some pace. Speed numbers are fairly close. As the weather turns more frigid up North it should make for an very interesting race on the green. It will be a very good race.

#7 Not So Quiet (R. Hernandez / M. Casse) should go off as the favorite with the second highest (3-way tie) last out speed number with a win in that race. This guy loves the surface and the Woodbine inner course. He will be part of the pace scenario and could wire the field. A son of Silent Name [JPN], he is 54% in the money from eleven career starts.

$1 WIN  / $2 PLACE / $3 SHOW.

#1 Royal Laser (Stein / S. Attard) should challenge with the highest last out speed number at a longer route and one solid workout. This guy comes into it on a two race win streak. He is most experienced at this distance having hit the board twice in three tries. He should take up a nice tracking position. A son of Giant Gizmo, he is 53% in the money from twenty-six career starts.

$1 PLACE / $2 SHOW.

#8 Eskiminzin (Moran / Grant) should contend sharing the second highest last out speed number and putting in two hearty peaking workouts. This horse is another that will track the pace ready to strike. A son of Cold Harbor, he is successful at the distance and over the course.

#6 Red Cabernet (Bahen / Black) should show continued improvement having won her last with the fourth highest (tie) last out speed number at a route and putting in two sound workouts. This mare also shows the highest (tie) speed number at the distance. She is another tracking who will seek positioning for the stretch run. A daughter of Signature Red, she will be gunning for these boys.

Last Superfecta Sunday (10/25)

Belmont Park R9.  Athenia-G3.  We missed on our 10 CENT Superfecta Box play catching only two of the four wagering interests need to cash. Superfecta went 8-1-7-3.

Our Bronze Horseshoe runner, Call Me Love [GB], finished 5th.

Bankroll hits the skids falling to a meager $3.82. We will supplement with a Hamilton once again for today's race.

Superfecta Sunday on the Turf

 On a beautiful Sunday we take in a race on the Turf at magnificent Belmont Park.

Belmont Park Race 9 {Athenia Stakes~G3~1 1/16 mile~TURF~3 year-old Up~Fillies/Mares~Graded Stakes}

A grand field of eight will venture on to the Turf in this annual affair.

This field is jam-packed with talent and could be any of these gals race to win. Speed numbers are very close with all having gone this distance. There is enough speed to insure a swift pace. Trainers Christoph Clement and Chad Brown have multiple entrants making it a challenge to cobble together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta Box ticket. We shall try. This should be one of the best Turf races on the day.

#2 Call Me Love [GB] (Rosario / Clement) might have the edge as she exits a tougher and longer race in her last. Couple that with four solid workouts and she could carry off the hardware. She holds the highest speed number at the distance. A daughter of Sea the Stars [IRE], she is 83% in the money from twelve career starts. This filly is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.

$1 SHOW.

#1 Mitchell Road (L. Saez / Mott) comes up from Kentucky Downs to battle these ladies. She holds the second highest last out speed number and three strong workouts. This gal should show speed from the gate. A daughter of English Channel, she is 76% in the money from seventeen career starts.

#8 Tapit Today (J. Ortiz / C. Brown) will challenge as she also comes up from Kentucky Downs. This gal holds the third highest last out speed number and four hearty workouts. Watch for her to run close to the pace. A daughter of Tapit, she is 77% in the money from nine career starts.

#6 Sweet Bye and Bye (J. Lezcano / A. Dutrow) should contend with the highest last out speed number and two sound workouts. She loves the distance and the Belmont course. Look for her to be forwardly placed. A daughter of Sky Mesa, she is 82% in the money from seventeen career starts.

Woodbine R10.  Breeder's Stakes.  Our first pick, Told It All, finished 9th.  Our second pick, Mighty Heart, finished 7th.  Our third pick, Muskoka Giant, finished 8th.

We failed completely on our Exacta Wheel and 20 CENT Superfecta. Superfecta went 9-1-5-7.

Bankroll gets shut-out and plummets to $2.22.  We will supplement with a Lincoln for todays TURF race.

Stakes Saturday in New York

Back in action on this glorious Stakes Saturday.

Aqueduct Race 8 {Artie Schiller Stakes~1 mile~TURF~3 year-old Up~Stakes}

A robust field of nine will hit the green in this annual event. There is an abundance of speed which should make for a sizzling pace. Only one,Voodoo Song, has raced over the Aqueduct Turf. Speed numbers are very close. It should be one of the best races on the day.

#1 Frontier Market (I. Ortiz / C. Brown) might have the edge having never been off the board in six starts at this very distance. He holds the second highest (tie) last out speed number and four efficient workouts. A son of Lemon Drop Kid, he is an outstanding 90% in the money from eleven career starts. Expect him to close them down.
$1 WIN  /  $2 PLACE  /  $3 SHOW.

#8 Caribou Club (Lynch / Proctor) should challenge with the fourth highest last out speed number and four superior workouts. This guy has won nine and is 71% in the money from twenty-one career starts. A son of  City Zip, he is another that will track and close swiftly. Loves the surface and distance.

#5 Curlins Honor (Rosario / Motion) should contend with three strong last out speed numbers and three excellent peaking workouts. He has hit the board in his last three starts winning his last two. A son of Curlin, he is 73% in the money from fifteen career starts. This lad should be tracking the pace ready to strike.

#10 Voodoo Song (J. Lezcano / L. Rice) should be part of the speed contingent on the front end. He holds the highest (tie) last out speed number and two dynamic workouts. In his only race over the Aqueduct Turf he secured the victory. A son of English Channel, he loves the surface and distance.

Superfecta Sunday in Gotham

On this Superfecta Sunday we take in a wonderful Turf race in the Big Apple.

Belmont Park Race 9 {Athenia~G3~1 1/16 mile~TURF~3 year-old Up~Fillies/Mares~Graded Stakes}

A great group of nine equine ladies will hit the grass in this Turf stakes. There is enough speed for an honest pace to develop giving them all a chance to bring home the purse. only three have yet to travel over the Belmont Turf. Speed figs are very, very close making it a highly competitive event. Our task is to knit together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket. It should be a great race in Gotham.

#1 Simply Breathless [GB] (Rosario / Drysdale) is the one to beat with the second highest (tie) last out speed number and three tremendous workouts. She has already notched a win at this distance. This gal is highly consistent having hit the board in her last three. A daughter of Bated Breath [GB], she is 82% in the money from seventeen starts.

#9 Xenobia [IRE] (J. Velazquez / Thomas) should be ready for the challenge earning the third highest last out speed number at a longer route and securing two sharp workouts in preparation for this race. This daughter of Falco, is 58% in the money from twelve career starts, winning four times. She should be racing close to the pace ready to strike. Our Bronze Horseshoe selection.

#2 Victorine [FR] (I. Ortiz / Clement) looks to make another improvement with the fourth highest last out speed number and two sound workouts. She loves the distance and the Belmont course. #5 Candy Store [IRE] (Alvarado / Clement) should improve dramatically in her third start of the form cycle. She has done well over the Turf and distance. Her two works in the last thirty days appear to be strong ones. A daughter of Lope de Vega [IRE], she holds eight victories and a 56% in the money record from sixteen career starts. Could be part of the pace scenario holding on for a piece of the purse.

Superfecta Sunday on the Turf

On this Superfecta Sunday we take a look at a graded stakes race on the Turf.

Belmont Park Race 8 {Athenia~G3~1 1/16 mile~TURF~3 year-old Up~Fillies/Mares~Graded Stakes}

A reduced group of seven talented gals will hit the Turf in this graded event. There is enough speed to keep a solid pace. Speed numbers are very close insuring a competitive event. Our task is to cobble together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket.

#3 New Money Honey (Castellano / C. Brown) appears to be in great form holding the highest (tie) last out speed number at a longer route and putting three solid workouts. She should be close to the pace and strike in the stretch. A millionaire daughter of Medaglia d'Oro, she is 100% in the money over the Belmont course and distance. She is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.
$3 SHOW.

#1 Rymska [FR] (I. Ortiz / C. Brown) is another in good form that holds a 100% money record over the course and the distance. She should get a good pace set-up for her tracking and closing running style. A daughter of La Havre [IRE], she has put in three hearty workouts in preparation for this event.

#2 Hawksmoor [IRE] (M. Franco / Delacour) should challenge with the third highest last out speed number and two superb workouts. She should be forwardly placed ready with run. A millionaire daughter of Azamour [IRE] she is another that is 100% over the Belmont course.

#6 Inflexibility (J. Velazquez / C. Brown) should be one of the favorites sharing the highest last out speed number at a longer route and putting in three robust workouts prepping for this race. She is 100% in the money at the distance, loves the Turf and Belmont. A daughter of Scat Daddy, she should race close to the pace.

Stakes Saturday at Glorious Keeneland

We celebrate our Stakes Saturday by taking in a graded stakes route as the Keeneland meet comes to a close.

Keeneland Race 9 {Fayette~G1~1 1/8 mile~3 year-old Up~Graded Stakes}

A great group of skilled horses will go to the gate in this annual graded stakes route. There is enough speed to potentially bring some heat to the pace. Speed numbers are reasonably close which will make a competitive event. There are a couple of millionaires in the race adding some luster to the event. It should be a very exciting race.

#5 Chocopologie (C. Hernandez / Devereaux) might have the edge with a furious pace. He holds the fourth highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and one solid workout. This lad is 100% in the money from ten starts. This son of Candy Ride [ARG] should be tracking the pace ready to strike.
$1 WIN  /  $2 PLACE  /  $3 SHOW.

#3 Kasaqui [ARG] (Albarado / Correas) will be switching from turf to dirt. He holds the highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and two stout workouts. A son of Lasting Approval, he is another that should be tracking the pace ready to move swiftly into the stretch.

#8 Divining Rod (Geroux / Delacour) will be stretching out seeking further improvement. He shows a couple of good last out performances capturing the win in each. This guy has put in three sound workouts prepping for this race. A son of Tapit, he could be forwardly placed hoping to get first jump going into the stretch.

#6 Prayer for Relief (Lanerie / Romans) comes in after an extended layoff. Prior to that he was seen racing in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. He does hold the second highest speed fig at the distance. A millionaire, he has put in four sensational workouts in preparation for his return to racing. This son of Jump Start should track and close gallantly.

Superfecta Sunday on Soft Turf

Congratulations to our Chicago Cubs on making it to the World Series.  The last time they were seen on Major League Baseball's grandest stage, Harry S. Truman was President of the United States. 

A beautiful day across the country as we look towards New York for some Superfecta Turf play.

Belmont Park Race 8 {Athenia~G3~1 1/16 mile~inner TURF~3 year-old Up~Fillies/Mares~Graded Stakes}

A stellar field of ten gals will hit the Turf in this graded stakes race. There seems to be enough pace to insure an honest pace. Speed numbers are extremely close making for a super competitive race. Our task is to cobble together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta Box ticket. It should be a great day of Autumn racing.

#7 Mexican Gold (I. Ortiz / C. Brown) might have the edge with the fourth highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and four superb workouts. This gal appears to enjoy running over soft or good Turf. She should take up a tracking position and streak through the stretch. This lass has already won at this distance in her only try. She is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.

#1 Strike Charmer (Alvarado / Hennig) is coming out of a grade one that had stiffer competition. She holds the highest last out speed number at a longer Turf route and one serious workout. This gal could go off as the deserved favorite. She should track and close successfully.

#9 All In Fun (J. Ortiz / McGaughey) should challenge with the second highest (tie) last out speed number at a longer Turf route, a four race progression, and three excellent workouts. She could track closer to the pace and unleash her kick in the stretch. This gal loves the distance and should handle the soft/good going.

#4 Sea Coast [IRE] (J. Velazquez / Clement) is 100% in the money at this distance from four starts. She shares the second highest last out speed number, is working a two race progression, and has put in four hearty workouts. She could be forwardly placed ready to pounce going into the stretch.

A Horse Racing Weekend Begins

Our horse racing weekend begins at the mighty Keeneland.

Keeneland Race 8 {Sycamore~G3~1 1/2 mile~TURF~3 year old Up~Graded Stakes}
A good group of nine will go to the green in this feature race. It comes up a little light on speed. Expect a rapid quickening heading into the stretch run. The speed numbers are very close making this race a highly competitive one.

#9 Unitarian (Castellano / Pletcher) should be the favorite and the one to beat. He holds the highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and four strong peaking workouts. This guy should be flying late into the stretch battle.
$2 SHOW.

#5 Villandry (Bridgmohan / Lopresti) should challenge with the third highest (3-way tie) last out speed number and two stout workouts. He is coming off a fourth place finish in a grade one event up at Woodbine. This lad is one that should track and close diligently.
$1 SHOW.

#4 Red Rifle (J. Velazquez / Pletcher) should contend with the second highest (3-way tie) last out speed number, a five race progression, and two hearty workouts. He should be forwardly placed with a chance to wire this field.

#3 Holiday Star (Naprvnik / Motion) should also contend sharing the second highest last out speed number, holding a five race progression, and gearing up with one triumphant workout. He is another that will be part of the quickening crew with a tracking/closing running style.

Superfecta Sunday at Belmont

Another beautiful Fall day for a Superfecta Sunday. We take a look at a dynamic Turf contest.

Belmont Park Race 9 {Athenia~G3~1 1/16 mile~TURF~3 year old Up~fillies/mares~Graded Stakes}
 
A great group of eleven gals will hit the Turf in this graded stakes race.  There is plenty of pace to make this race sizzle as all of these run for position. The speed numbers are very, very close making it somewhat difficult to separate these ladies. It should be a tremendous race. Our task is to stitch together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket.

#12 Anecdote [GB] will be making her second North American start with the highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and one bullet workout. She scored a victory over the Belmont Turf in her last outing. This gal will be tracking and closing fiercely as she stretches out to a longer Turf route. She is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.

#4 Byrama [GB] (J. Velazquez / Mott) should challenge with the second highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and two robust workouts. She is a reliable sort who should track the pace and explode into the stretch. This gal relishes the Belmont Turf.

#1 Overheard (Castellano / Pierce) will contend as a lover of the distance. She holds a couple of good last out speed numbers and has put in four superb workouts in preparation. This lady should be able to close swiftly into a solid pace.

#2 La Tia (Rosario / De la cerda) should be the speed of the race attempting to wire the field. She holds the third highest (tie) last out speed number at a longer route and one top-notch workout. This gal has performed well at this distance.
