Up North for Superfecta Sunday

On this Superfecta Easter Sunday we take a look at an outstanding Stakes sprint North of the border.

Woodbine Race 6 {Star Shoot Stakes~6 Furlongs~3 year-old~Fillies~Stakes}

A glorious field of ten will enter the gate in this stakes sprint. There is enough speed to guarantee a demanding pace. Speed figures for these young ladies are very close. Four in here will be setting their hooves on the synthetic surface for the first time. It should be a very good race. Our task is to string together a winning 20 CENT Superfecta box ticket.

#5 Sister Peacock (Campbell / Simon) is the speed of the race and could wire this field. She holds the second highest last out speed number and has put in three serious workouts. Last seen at Gulfstream Park, this gal already has two wins at fabulous Woodbine. A daughter of Real Solution, she is 100% in the money from four career starts. She is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.
$3 SHOW.

#9 Intanga Rose (DaSilva / S. Attard) could go off as the favorite as she comes back to Woodbine after a extended winter vacation. This gal holds the highest last out speed number and has grouped together three dynamite workouts. A daughter of Animal Kingdom, she should track the pace and launch into the stretch. She has a 100% win record from two starts last year.

#4 My Gal Betty (G. Boulanger / Attfield) should challenge coming out of a graded stakes race down at Gulfstream Park. She loves the Woodbine Tapeta surface securing two in the money performances over it. A daughter of Point of Entry, she is another that will track the pace. Overall she is 66% in the money from six starts.

#1 Speedy Soul (Kimura / M. Casse) should be a contender coming back to Woodbine after a long winter layoff. She scored two victories from two starts last year and looks to improve in her first start this year having put in two strong peaking workouts. A daughter of Souper Speedy, she will close into a fast pace.

Stakes Saturday at Keeneland

Today we take in a classic Turf race at beautiful Keeneland.

Keeneland Race 9 {Dixiana Elkhorn~G2~1 1/2 mile~4 year-old Up~Graded Stakes}

A great field of ten will take to the Turf in this annual event. There is some speed to maintain an honest pace at this longer distance. Speed figs are fairly close which should make it a relatively competitive event. The Turf is considered yielding at the time of this post. It should be a fantastic race.

#10 Zulu Alpha (J. Ortiz / Maker) should go off as the favorite as he seeks his fourth win in a row. He holds the third highest (tie) last out speed number and four supremely good peaking workouts. This son of Street Cry [IRE] should be tracking the pace and rally in the stretch.
$1 WIN  /  $2 PLACE  /  $3 SHOW.

#5 Canessar [FR] (Lynch / Delacour) will challenge sharing the third highest last out speed fig and putting in a solid workout. He also shares the second highest speed number at the distance with our top pick. A son of Kendargent [FR], he is another that will track and quicken into the stretch.
$1 PLACE  / $2 SHOW.

#8 Red Knight (L. Saez / Mott) should contend coming off a "marathon" distance race in his last scoring the second highest last out speed number. He has put in four quality peaking workouts in the last thirty days. This lad has the highest in the money record of the group at 81% from eleven career starts. A son of Pure Prize, he too will be tracking the pace.
$1 SHOW.

#4 Soglio (Geroux / Maker) will be in the mix with three good last out speed numbers and two hearty workouts. This lad has secure one victory at this distance from two tries. He does well over yielding sod. A son of Scat Daddy, he should be close to the pace and get first run on the leaders.
