Stakes Saturday at Beautiful Keeneland

Beautiful Keeneland is the place for tremendous horse racing on this Stakes Saturday.

Keeneland Race 9 {Raven Run~G2~7 Furlongs~3 year-old~Fillies~Graded Stakes}

A supremely successful field of ten young ladies will go to the gate in this annual affair. There is enough speed to keep the pace rolling. Speed numbers are very close making this race highly competitive. Half the field is making their first start over the Keeneland track. It should be a thrilling race.

#11 Irish Mischief (M. Smith / B. Cox) might have the edge with three good last out speed numbers and two efficient workouts. This gal should be forwardly placed full of run. She holds the fourth highest speed number of this group. A daughter of Into Mischief, she is 88% in the money from nine career starts.
$1 WIN  /  $2 PLACE  /  $3 SHOW.

#1 Royal Charlotte (Gaffalione  / C. Brown) could go off as the favorite with the highest last out speed number and four strong workouts. She has five wins from six career starts. Look for her to be tracking the pace closely. A daughter of Cairo Prince, she has already posted a win over the Keeneland track.
$1 PLACE  /  $2 SHOW.

#9 Horologist (Bravo / Baltas) should challenge with the fourth highest last out speed number at a route and one bullet workout. She should be close to the front running crew. A daughter of Gemologist, she is an impressive 90% in the money over the surface from ten starts.
$1 SHOW.

#8 First Star (Van Dyke / R. Ellis) should contend with a couple of good last out speed numbers in her only two starts and four superb workouts. This gal comes in from California after running a route at Del Mar last out. A daughter of First Dude, she has won both of her career starts.

Belmont Park R7. Point of Entry Stakes..  We just missed on our 10 Superfecta Box play, hitting three of the four wagering interests required to cash. Superfecta went 3-6-5-7.
Our Bronze Horseshoe runner, Pillar Mountain [IRE], finished 3rd for show money of $1.35.
Bankroll slips to $74.12.

Long on the Turf for Superfecta Sunday

We celebrate our Superfecta Sunday by going long on the Turf in always intriguing New York.

Belmont Park Race 7 {Point of Entry Stakes~1 1/2 mile~TURF~3 year-old Up~Stakes}

Another short field of seven quality horses will go to the green. There is some speed to keep an honest pace. Speed numbers are very close among these lads. All but one have experience over the Belmont course. Our task is to tack together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta Box ticket. It should be another exciting race.

#5 Pillar Mountain [IRE] comes in off a nice rest after running in a grade three. He holds the fourth highest last out speed number and has put together two good workouts. He also holds the third highest speed number at the distance. A son of Kodiac [GB], he is 62% in the money from eight career starts. Expect him to close with a rush. He is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.
$1 SHOW.

#3 Red Knight (Alvarado / Mott) will challenge with the highest speed number at the distance, the second highest last out speed number,  and two efficient workouts. This lad loves to go long. A son of Pure Prize, he is 68% in the money from sixteen starts. He should track the pace and let loose in the stretch.

#7 Manitoulin (J. Velazquez / Matz) should contend with the third highest last out speed number and three superb peaking workouts. This guy holds the highest speed number over the Belmont course. A son of Awesome Again, he is another that should track and strike.

#2 Carlino (M. Franco / Hennig) could surprise as he makes the switch from dirt to Turf. He has been running consistently and placed fifth last out at this distance. A son of Lemon Drop Kid , he should be closing swiftly. He is an under the radar runner.

Woodbine R9.  Pattison Canadian International--G1.  Our first pick, Desert Encounter [IRE], won (1st) for win money of $2.50, place money of $3.60, and show money of $3.30.  Our second pick, Alounak [FR], finished 2nd for place money of $5.45 and show money of $4.60.  Our third pick, Ziyad [GB], finished 3rd for show money of $1.05.
We cashed on our $1 Saturday Exacta Wheel earning $20.85.
Bankroll climbs to $76.17.
