Superfecta Sunday in Sunny Southern Cal
As the Betfair Hollywood Park meet draws to a close we take a look at a graded "marathon" Turf race at the venerable race track.
Betfair Hollywood Park Race 5 {Sunset Handicap~G3~1 1/2 miles~TURF~3 year old Up~Stakes}
A slim field of six will take to the grass in this long Turf route. The field is largely comprised of those that like to be near the pace either pressing or tracking. There is little in the way of a true speedster. It will be interesting to see who takes the lead. Should be an intriguing race. We will deploy the "Lambrakis" method for our 10 CENT Superfecta today.
#1 Dhaamer [IRE] (Leparoux / Mitchell) should be poised for battle with the second highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and four solid workouts. He has secured three victories in four starts at this distance. He should be able to secure another.
#2 Marketing Mix (Stevens / Proctor) will challenge with the highest last out speed number and four endurance building workouts. He should be forwardly placed ready to kick it in when asked. The only millionaire in the bunch.
#6 Why Not Be Perfect (Sanguinetti / Metz) could be the big surprise if he takes the lead at a plodding pace. He holds the third highest (tie) last out speed number, a three race progression, and one strengthening bullet workout. This lad has acquitted himself well at a half a furlong short of this distance, securing a victory. He has also won at Hollywood in his only start there. He is our Bronze Horseshoe runner.

Betfair Hollywood Park Race 5 {Sunset Handicap~G3~1 1/2 miles~TURF~3 year old Up~Stakes}
$2 SHOW.
#4 Extensive (M. Garcia / Cerin) appears to be ready to tackle this distance sharing the third highest last out speed number, holding a two race progression, and putting in two robust workouts. He should track and close this crew.
Others in the race include #3 Only the Gold (Stra / Belvoir) and #5 Hawk's Eyes [BRZ] (Espinoza / Avila).

Stakes Saturday on New York Turf
Another sensational Saturday and we take a look at a grade one Turf contest.
Belmont Park Race 9 {Man O' War~G1~1 3/8 mile~inner TURF~3 year old Up~Stakes}
A great field of eight will hit the grass in this annual affair. There is enough speed and forwardly placed types to keep the pace earnest. This is another race in which any one of these talented fellas can eek out a victory. It should be one of the better races before the New York crowd moves up to "The Spa" for the rest of the summer.
#6 Boisterous (J. Velazquez / McGaughey) looks to have an edge with his 100% in the money record at this distance in four starts. He holds the third highest last out speed number and has put in three tremendous workouts. This guy should track the pace and rock in the stretch.
$1 WIN / $2 PLACE / $3 SHOW.
#2 Speaking of Which [IRE] (Lezcano / Clement) could launch a surprising challenge with a couple of decent last out speed numbers, a three race progression, and two diligent workouts. Should he step-up to the level of his euro races he could be dangerous. Expect him to also track the pace closely ready to roll.
$1 PLACE / $2 SHOW.
#8 Exclusive Strike (I. Ortiz / Servis) is a consistent sort coming off a brief layoff. He holds the second highest last out speed number, a four race progression, and one solid workout. This guy is 71% in the money in thirty-four starts. He is quite capable at tracking and closing swiftly.
$1 SHOW.
Other Wagering Interests
#1 Optimizer (Rosario / Lukas) could go off as the favorite with the highest last out speed number, a five race progression, and three superb workouts. Incredibly, he has been running races since January 2012 without a break. His versatile running style should benefit him greatly.
#7 Al Khali (Alvarado / Mott) is another venerable turfer holding the second highest speed number at the distance. His last out speed number, at a longer route, was o.k. and has been coupled with three hearty workouts. This guy will contend with the other tracker/closers heading for home.

Ellis Park Race 8 {1 mile~3 year old Up~fillies/mares~Allowance}
A large field of twelve gals will go to the gate in this mile battle. There is enough speedsters and pressing types to keep a strong pace going. Let's give it a whirl.
