Superfecta Sunday in Southern Cali

Another good TURF race to handicap for our Superfecta Sunday.

Santa Anita Park Race 4 {Blue Norther Stakes~1 mile~TURF~2 year-old~Fillies~Stakes}

A great crop of young fillies will cruise over the Turf in this annual event. There is plentiful speed which could produce fast fractions. Speed numbers are so very close making any of these gals race. Our task is to fashion together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket.
It should be an exciting race.

#6 Courteous (Talamo / Mandella) should display speed in amongst this speedy group. She hold the fourth highest last out speed number and four strong peaking workouts. She has a sound affinity for the surface, distance and course. A daughter of Midnight Lute, she is 50% in the money from four starts. She is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.

Stakes Saturday on the Florida Dirt

On this Stakes Saturday we take a look at the feature graded stakes race on the dirt in South Florida.

Gulfstream Park Race 5 {Harlan's Holiday~G3~1 1/16 mile~3 year-old Up}

We have a short field of six in this one. Such as it is during the winter meets. There is truly one standout in the race, Audible, and relative parity among the rest as they battle for the remaining purse pie. Among the battlers, the speed figs are fairly close giving it a really competitive feel for these lads to hit the board. In a change to our favored exotic wager we will make an effort with the Trifecta.

#1 Audible (Castellano / Pletcher) is the one to beat. This year's Florida Derby winner (3rd in the Kentucky Derby), appears to be in fine form. He won last out earning the highest speed fig among this group and has put in three superb peaking workouts. Woodbine Race 8 {Valedictory~G3~1 3/4 mile~3 year-old Up~Graded Stakes}

A fine field of nine will hit the Tapeta in this annual contest. Lacking in any dominating speed, the race could come down to positioning as the quickening begins. Speed figs are fairly close although four have yet to run this longer distance. Our task is to select the right mix to conquer the 20 CENT Superfecta. It could be the best race of the day.

#7 Melmich (Contreras / K. Attard) looks to be the winner in this one sporting the highest speed number at this distance. He holds the second highest (4-way tie) last out speed number and two sound workouts. Proven at the distance, this millionaire son of Wilko should be tracking ready for the race to the wire.
