Superfecta Sunday Shootout in OK

Off we go to, Oklahoma where the horses come sweeping into the stretch.

Remington Park Race 11 {Oklahoma Derby~G3~1 1/8 mile~3 year-old~Graded Stakes}

A fantastic field of eleven will go to the gate in this annual contest. There is enough speed to maintain an honorable pace. Speed numbers are close to assure an evenly matched race. Our task is to create a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket.

#6 Secret Passage (Geroux / Von Hemel) appears to be getting good at the right time with a couple of good last out speed numbers, a three race progression, and three superb workouts. This lad should track the pace among the second pack and explode into the stretch. He is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.

#11 Seeking Blame (B. Hernandez / Stewart) should challenge with a couple of decent last out speed numbers, a three race progression, and three quality workouts. With the right pace this guy should be closing gallantly.

#1 Texas Chrome (McMahon / Caldwell) could be the favorite as he tries for his third win in a row. He holds the highest last out speed number, a seven race progression, and one bullet workout. He should find himself in the track pack ready to roll.

#3 Ready Dancer (J. Velazquez / Pletcher) should take another step forward with the second highest last out speed number, a four race progression, and two hearty workouts. he has the tactical speed to position himself advantageously.

Stakes Saturday in Pennsylvania

Today we take in a much anticipated graded stakes race for three year-olds.

Parx {Pennsylvania Derby~G2~{1 1/8 mile~3 year-old~Graded Stakes}

A field of twelve of the best 3 year-olds in the country will compete for the $1,250,000 purse. There is plenty of speed and forwardly placed types to insure a fast pace. Speed numbers are all very close among these talented horses. It should be the best race of the day.

#9 Nyquist (Gutierrez / O'Neill) should redeem himself in this race with the fourth highest (4-way tie) last out speed number and four endurance producing workouts. This guy should be able race right up the near the pace and breakaway in the stretch. A millionaire son of Uncle Mo, he holds the highest in the money record of 90% from ten starts.
$2 WIN  /  $3 PLACE  /  $5 SHOW.

#7 Gun Runner (Geroux / Asmussen) should present a mighty challenge with the highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and three stout peaking workouts. He should be tracking the pace closely ready to strike in the stretch. A millionaire son of Candy Ride [ARG], he holds an impressive in the money record of 77% from nine starts.

#5 Cupid (Bejarano / Baffert) should contend sharing the fourth highest last out speed number, working a four race progression, and throwing down three sensational peaking workouts. This son of Tapit comes into the race with two wins in a row. He should be part of the front running crew.

#3 Summer Revolution (Smith / R. Rodriguez) could surprise with the third highest last out speed number at a sprint and three fierce bullet workouts. This lad should do very well on the stretch out as a son of Summer Bird. He should be right off the pace in the proper position to sneak away.

Superfecta Sunday under the Twin Spires

On this Superfecta Sunday we take in a nice sprint on the dirt under the Twin Spires.

Churchill Downs Race 4 {6 Furlongs~3 year-old Up~Fillies/Mares~Beaten Claiming}

An intriguing field of nine will enter the gate in this mid-card race. There is some speed to develop and honest pace. Speed numbers are fairly close making it a competitive race. Our task is to cobble a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket.

#3 Chica Cherry Cola (B. Hernandez / Connelly) might have the edge with the third highest (tie) last out speed number and one superb bullet workout. This lady could close swiftly into a strong pace. She is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.
$2 SHOW.

#6 Greely's Striker (Mena / Thomas) will challenge  sharing the third highest last out speed number at a route race and putting in one solid workout. She loves the Churchill track which adds to her cause. This gal should be tracking and closing with fervor.

#2 Fancy Is My Name (Doyle / Jordan) should contend with the fourth highest last out speed number. She also holds the fourth highest speed number at the distance with a good 62% in the money record at same. This lady is another expected to track and close well.

#1 National Girl (Court / Fugata) should be in the hunt with a couple of decent last out speed numbers, her last one coming at a route race. She ships in from Ellis Park for her third career start having one of her two races. This gal should be forwardly placed.

Woodbine R12.  Woodbine Mile--G1. They took the show bet off the wagering menu which kind chewed a bit off our wagers. Our first pick, Tepin, won (1st) for win money of $2.90.  Our second pick, Tower of Texas, finished 2nd for place money of $5.30.  Our third pick, Mizzen Mast, finished 4th.
We hit our Exacta Wheel for a small amount of $10.95.
We also hit the 20 CENT Superfecta for a tidy sum of $41.20. Superfecta went 8-1-2-5.
Bankroll gets a nice boost to $183.94.

O' Canada Stakes Saturday

Looking over the Northern boarder to take a fantastic Turf mile for our Stakes Saturday.

Woodbine Race 12 {Woodbine Mile~G1~1 mile~TURF~3 year-old Up~Graded Stakes}

A field of eight will go to the gate in this annual contest. There is some speed to set honest fractions. Speed numbers are fairly close with three Euros coming in to take up the challenge. It should be the best race of the day as we edge even closer to the Breeder's Cup races.

#8 Tepin (Leparoux / Casse) is the lone girl taking on these boys. She is certainly the horse to beat as she tries to maintain her seven race winning streak. This daughter of Bernstein should sit right off the pace and gun it in the stretch. Coming into this race off a modest layoff after winning a prestigious Ascot race across the pond, she should be able to handle these guys. This esteemed lady holds the highest speed number at the distance and has put in four sensational peaking workouts in preparation. Not much value for a W/P/S wager. We will throw down an Exacta wheel with our selections.

#1 Tower of Texas (DaSilva / R. Attfield) should challenge as he takes up a little bet closer tracking position. He holds the second highest speed number at the distance, a two race progression, and three powerful peaking workouts. This lad loves the Woodbine course like no other earning an 85% in the money record over it. A son of Street Sense, he will build up a serious kick heading down the long stretch.
$1 PLACE / $2 SHOW.

#5 Full Mast (Rosario / Mott) appears to be ready for a big race with possibly the highest last out speed number at a longer route, a two race progression, and one sound workout. He will be coming into this with a brief freshening seeking to cash as he rounds into form. A son of Mizzen Mast, expect him to track the pace and strike in the stretch.
$1 SHOW.

#2 Mutakayyef [GB] (O'Neill / Haggas) is one of the Euro invaders seeking an upset. He has raced exceptionally well in Great Britain having a 100% in the money record from thirteen starts. He was in for the show last out at a longer route. This lad is a son of Sea the Stars [GB]. Look him to take up a tracking positon looking to explode in the stretch.

Back to Kentucky Turf for Superfecta Sunday

First, allow us to take a knee in quiet reflection for those that perished during the horrible terrorist attacks on 9/11/2001.

On to our glorious Superfecta Sunday where we once again take in a fantastic Turf contest in that horse country known as Kentucky.

Kentucky Downs Race 9 {Dueling Grounds Derby~1 5/16 mile~TURF~ 3 year-olds~Stakes}

A contentious field of eleven will take to the Kentucky Turf in this featured Stakes race. There is a bit of speed to provide an honest pace. Speed numbers appear to be very close making for a competitive contest. Our task is whip-up a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket.

#9 Little Scotty (Prat / Drysdale) might be able to control the pace up front and perform a wire job on this field. He holds the highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and three forwardly strengthening workouts. This lad is one of three that have gone this distance and has been in the money in both tries. He is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.
$2 SHOW.

#12 Nessy (B. Hernandez / Corrigan) should be able to contend with a couple of decent last out speed numbers and four sensational peaking workouts. His won his lone race at this distance. He should be able to track and close into the pace.

#11 Oscar Nominated (Geroux / Maker) should challenge with the third highest last out speed number, a four race progression, and one solid workout. He is another that will track the pace and close vigorously in the stretch.

#5 Manitoulin (Lanerie / Toner) will contend with the fourth highest last out speed number, an eight race progression, and two hearty workouts. This guy should take up a tracking positon ready to strike. He has raced twice at this distance and has scored a victory.

Stakes Saturday on Kentucky Turf

Off we go to where some of the best Turf contests take place for our Stakes Saturday race.

Kentucky Downs Race 9 {Calumet Farm Kentucky Turf Cup~G3~1 1/2 mile~TURF~3 year-old Up~Graded Stakes}

A stellar field of nine will take to the Kentucky grass in this Turf battle. There is no speed to speak of in this classic distance, so expect a rowdy quickening heading for home. Speed numbers are fairly close with all these guys, except one, hitting a triple digit in their careers. It should be one of the most exciting races on the day.

#6 Power Foot (Graham / Drysdale) could be sitting on a top performance as he checks in after a decent run in a higher level graded stakes race. He holds the highest speed number at the distance and has put in two robust workouts in preparation. This lad is one of only three that have run over the unique Kentucky Downs course. A son of Powerscourt [GB], he should track the pace closely and swing into the stretch with fervor.

#3 Seve's Road (Prat / D'Amato) should challenge with the fourth highest last out speed number and two superb workouts. He also holds the fourth highest speed number at the distance couple with a 100% in the money record at same. A son of Quality Road, he will be in the tracking pack.

#2 Bullards Alley (Pedroza / Glyshaw) could surprise with the third highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and two excellent workouts. He holds the second highest speed number over the KD course. This son of Flower Alley, could be motoring near the front end as he poses a touch of speed.

#7 Da Big Hoss (Geroux / Maker) is the horse to beat with the second highest last out speed number at much longer distance and two hearty workouts. This lad is 80% in the money at this distance from five starts. He competes here trying for his fourth win in a row. This son of Lemon Drop Kid has already notched a win over the KD course and should take up a tracking position.

Superfecta Sunday Turf Action

Let's take in some superb Turf action on this Superfecta Sunday.

Arlington International Race 7 {1 1/16 mile~TURF~3 year-old Up~Starter Optional Claiming}

A field of eight will go to the green in this last race on the Arlington card. There is abundance of speed which may set this race up nicely for those that like to come from off the pace. Speed numbers are fairly close for these Turf veterans. Our task is to string together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket.

#8 Veter [FR] (Marquez / Stidham) might have his way if the pace gets overheated. He holds a couple of good last out speed numbers, a three race progression, and two sound workouts. This guy should track and close gallantly over the Turf. He is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.

#2 Lassell (Valdivia / Silva) could go off as the favorite with the fourth highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and one bullet workout. He should be forwardly placed seeking to get the first jump on the speedsters.

#3 Heart Stopper (Murrill / Stidham) will challenge with a couple of decent last out speed numbers as he drops into this one from a slightly higher caliber race. He shares the third highest speed number at this distance. He should travel close to the pace.

#6 Prince Cheval (Sanjur / Swearingen) will show great speed as he tries for his third win in a row. He holds the second highest last out speed number, a four race progression, and two hearty workouts. This lad leads this veteran crew with nine career wins.

Stakes Saturday in New York

We look in on "The Spa"  for a fantastic graded stakes race. Hard to believe it is closing weekend as the unofficial end of summer is here.

Saratoga Race 10 {Woodward~G1~1 1/8 mile~3 year-old Up~Graded Stakes}

A fine field of nine will go to the gate in this featured race. There is enough speed to keep an honest pace on the front end. There are four millionaires competing in this one. All expected to be in the thick of it. Speed numbers are very close for half the field with the others looking for improvement. This race should be one of the best on Stakes Saturday.

#3 Frosted (Rosario / McLaughlin) is the definitely the horse to beat. This will be his third race after spending some time in Dubai. He has raced sensationally carrying a two race winning streak into this race. He holds the highest last out speed number and one sound workout. He should run right off the leader ready to strike going into the stretch. He excels at this distance. Not much value for this heavily favored son of Tapit.
$1 WIN.

#6 Samraat (J. Ortiz / Violette) should give chase with the second highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and three stamina producing, peaking workouts. This millionaire son of Noble Causeway has the tactical speed to adjust to the pace and spring into the stretch. Like most in here, comes in fresh off thirty days rest.
$1 PLACE  /  $2 SHOW.

#1 Shaman Ghost (Castellano / Jerkens) should contend with a couple of very good last out speed numbers and two superb peaking workouts. He drops in off a longer route and gets Lasix for the first time. This son of Ghostzapper should be tracking the pace seeking a path through the jumble of horses as they enter the stretch.

#9 Mubtaahij [IRE] (I Ortiz / McLaughlin) should contend with the third highest last out speed number at a longer distance and four hearty workouts. With a swift pace he could make the dash to the wire successful. A millionaire son of Dubawi [IRE], count on him to give a strong performance.
