Happy Super Bowl Sunday

 On this Superbowl Sunday, we look at a fine Stakes race at that "Great Race Place".

Santa Anita Park Race 7 {Sweet Life Stakes~downhill TURF~3 year-old~Fillies~Stakes}

A field of nine will saunter up to the start of the unique downhill course.

Past Performances used:  Equibase.

There is plenty of speed to get this one rolling down the hill. Speed numbers are very close making it super competitive. None of the entrants have raced on the downhill course. Two have raced at this distance. Two will be stretching out and the rest will be cutting back in distance. All are well prepped for the race. It should be a fantastic race.

#3 Schilflied (Berrios / Gallagher) should track the pace closely and glide into the stretch. She comes in with the second highest last out speed number and two sound peaking workouts. This gal has won at this distance but will try the hillside course for the first time. She is one of seven cutting back in distance from her list. A daughter of Mendelssohn, she is 60% in the money from five starts.

$2 WIN  /  $3 PLACE  /  #5 SHOW.

#5 Casalu (Prat / Baffert) challenges with the highest last out speed number and two efficient works. She has the tactical speed to adapt to the pace. Another that will cut back in distance. A daughter of Caracaro, she is 72% in the money from seven starts.

#7 As Catch Can (Rispoli / Thomas) will be tracking the pace and sprint into the stretch. She comes in with the third highest last out speed number and three strong workouts. Like many in this race, she loves the Turf. A daughter of Mo Town, she is 66% in the money from six starts.

#9 Acquitted (JJ. Hernandez / Mandella) exits a grade three contest with four powerful peaking workouts. She should track the pace closely. A cut back from a mile race in her last helps her cause. A daughter of Into Mischief, she has a win rate of 25% from four starts.

Other Wagering Interests

#2 How About Pavel (Pereira / O'Neill) should show speed and battle on the front-end. She cuts back in distance with three hearty peaking workouts. This gal loves the Turf. A daughter of Pavel, she is 42% in the money from seven starts.

#4 Tequilaandtherapy (Maldonado / O'Neill) will track the pace closely and stride out into the stretch. She is another that is cutting back from the mile distance with two robust workouts. A daughter of Mrazek, she is 62% in the money from eight starts.

Superfecta Sunday at Santa Anita

We take in a good Turf sprint stakes at the "Great Race Place" for our Superfecta Sunday.

Santa Anita Race 7 {Sweet Life Stakes~G3~3 year-old~Fillies~Graded Stakes}

A scratch shortens up this field to seven. These young fillies will battle over the Turf in this graded stakes race. There is plentiful speed which should give a load of gas. Speed figures are very close which should give a chance to any of these gals to bring home the bulk of the purse. Our task is to knit together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta Box ticket. It should be a fine race.

#7 Roadrunners Honor (Bejarano / O'Neill) could pick up the pieces if a blazing pace develops. She holds the third highest (tie) last out speed number as she switches from dirt to Turf. This gal has put in one solid workout in the last thirty days. A daughter of Honor Code, is 50% in the money from four career starts. She is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.
$2 SHOW.

#5 Lighthouse (Van Dyke / Callaghan) is in very good form sharing the third highest last out speed number and showing three powerful peaking workouts. This gal has already hit the board twice in two tries at this distance. A daughter of Mizzen Mast, she should be forwardly placed.

#2 Blue Sky Baby (Prat / D'Amato) should challenge with the second highest last out speed number and three superb workouts. This young lady has a win at this distance in her only try at it. Another that should be forwardly placed. A daughter of Pioneer of the Nile, she is 66% in the money from three career starts.

#6 Laura's Light (Cedillo / Miller) is the morning line favorite and deservedly so. She holds the highest last out speed number and four strong peaking workouts. This filly should have the controlling speed as she drops to this distance for the first time. A daughter of Constitution, she is 100% in the money from three career starts.

10 CENT Superfecta Box ($2.40)
