On the Turf for Superfecta Sunday

We take a peek at a fantastic graded stakes race on the Turf for this Superfecta Sunday.

Del Mar Race 7 {San Clemente~G2~1 mile~TURF~Fillies~Graded Stakes}

A superb field of eight will travel over the green. There is sufficient speed to produce a swift pace. Speed numbers are very close for this group of runners all stepping up in class for this graded stakes event. Our task is to string together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket. It should be a grand Turf battle.

#3 Lull (B. Hernandez / Clement) looks to be well spotted as she ships in for strong connections. This gal holds the third highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and four dynamic workouts. She should get first jump on the leaders going into the stretch.
She is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.

#7 Sircat Sally (Van Dyke / Hollendorfer) should be the well-deserved favorite as she is undefeated in seven starts. A very speedy gal, she holds the highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and four superlative workouts. This gal could wire this field with her speed.

#9 Madam Dancealot [IRE] (Theriot / Baltas) should challenge with the second highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and four stellar workouts. This girl will be tracking the pace ready to strike in the stretch.

#6 Spy Ring [IRE] (Espinoza / Cassidy) could surprise with a couple of very good last out speed numbers, a six race progression, and two bullet workouts. Expect her to track right behind the leaders ready to attack in the stretch.

Surf Meets the Turf on Stakes Saturday

On this Stakes Saturday we take in the greatness that is Del Mar.

Del Mar Race 4 {Eddie Read~G2~1 1/8 mile~TURF~3 year-old Up~Graded Stakes}

A field of seven familiar faces will take to the green in this annual event. There is speed to maintain an earnest pace. Speed numbers are very close making it any horse's race. This should be an extremely exciting race.

#5 Up With the Birds (Theriot / D'Amato) comes back after a brief freshening. He holds the third highest (tie) last out speed number at a longer route and four superb workouts. A son of Stormy Atlantic, he should be motoring home quickly into a decent pace.
$2 WIN  /  $3 SHOW.

#6 Ashleyluvssugar (Stevens / Eurton) should go off as the favorite with the highest (3-way tie) last out speed number, a two race progression, and four excellent workouts. He also races fresh. An expert at this distance and over the Del Mar course, this son of Game Plan, should be forwardly placed.
$2 SHOW.

#7 Abbey Vale [IRE] (Frey / O'Neill) should improve once again sharing the third highest last out speed figure, working a two race progression, and throwing down two prime peaking workouts. This son of Moss Vale [IRE] should be tracking the leaders with fortitude.

Another Wagering Interest

#3 Kenjisstorm (Bejarano / Baltas) should be in the mix sharing the highest last out speed number, holding an eight race progression, and putting in two hearty workouts. This lad enjoys the distance and has the tactical speed to fit into whatever pace develops. Another son of Stormy Atlantic to hit the green..

Arlington International Race Course R8.  Claiming. We just missed on our 10 CENT Superfecta Box effort, capturing three of the four required to cash.  Superfecta went 10-7-3-5.

Superfecta Sunday Sprinting on the Green

On this Superfecta Sunday we take a look at a Turf sprint over the Arlington green.

Arlington International Race Course Race 8 {5 1/2 Furlongs~TURF~3 year-old Up~Claiming}

A nice full field of ten will take to the grass in the last of the day.  There is plenty of speed to keep the pace flowing. Speed numbers are fairly close making for quite a competitive affair. Most of these lads are decently bred for the Turf. Our task is to piece together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket.

#5 Oscarific (Valdivia / Rivelli) looks to be the one to beat with the second highest last out speed number and two sturdy workouts. This guy has sprinted this distance earning the third highest speed number of this group. He should be tracking the pace ready to strike going into the stretch. This lad is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.
$2 SHOW.

#1 Hawk Is Ready (Lantz / Mathews) should be forwardly placed among the speedsters. He holds the third highest last out speed number, the highest speed number at the distance, and is working a two race progression. He loves the Turf, course, and distance.

#7 Wayne's Ready (Shinn / Catalano) is another in the forwardly placed pack. He will be making a surface switch from synthetic to Turf. This guy holds the fourth highest last out speed number and has put in two robust workouts.

#3 Mr. Stein (Murrill / Cristel) should fine a good place behind the leaders and seek to mount a strong effort coming into the stretch. He has a decent couple of last out speed numbers and a two race progression. This lad holds the highest speed number of the group over the Arlington Turf course.

Last Superfecta Sunday (7/2) Results
Woodbine R12.  Charilie Barley Stakes.  We misfired on our 20 cent Superfecta box ticket capturing only two of the four wagering interests required to win. Superfecta went 8-3-7-2.
Our Bronze Horseshoe runner, Flowmotion, finished 5th.
Bankroll tumbles to $2.30. We will supplement with a Lincoln for today's racing action.

Superfecta Sunday Up North

Looking for some good Turf action on this Superfecta Sunday. We go North on Queen's Plate Day.

Woodbine Race 12 {Charlie Barley Stakes~1 mile~TURF~3 year-old~Stakes}

A great field of nine will hit the grass provided the rain subsides. There is enough speed to develop an honest pace. Speed numbers are very close which should produce a highly competitive event. All are nicely bred for the Turf. Our task is to string together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket.

#8 Yorkton (Da Silva / Simon) might be able to reel all of these lads in with the highest last out speed number and four glorious workouts. This guy will show speed and if contained properly, he could wire this field.

#6 Flowmotion (J. Ortiz / Casse) should take another step forward as he stretches out to this distance from his last that produced the third highest last out speed number of this crew. He has put in one fine workout. This guy has the tactical speed to track closely and strike in the stretch. He is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.
$1 SHOW.

#2 Made You Look (Castellano / Pletcher) comes in to face these foes with the second highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and two solid workouts. He holds the highest speed number at the distance. With a proper pace he could track and close gallantly.

#4 City Boy (Campbell / Keogh) could surprise with a couple of good last out speed numbers in which he hit the board in both efforts. He loves the surface and the Woodbine course. This lad has put in two robust workouts in the last thirty days.

Stakes Saturday along the Jersey Shore

On this Stakes Saturday, we have Turf.  Racing along the Jersey shore at a wonderful route distance on a beautiful day is on tap.

Monmouth Park Race 11 {United Nations~G1~1 3/8 mile~TURF~3 year-old Up~Graded Stakes}

A great field of nine will hit the Jersey green in this annual feature. There is some speed which may produce a nice flow to the race. Speed numbers are fairly close making this a highly competitive event. Most in here are tried and tested. All but one are coming into this one fresh. It should be one of the outstanding races in North America.

#8 Oscar Nominated (Carmouche / Maker) has the tactical speed to be the stayer. He holds the second highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and four excellent workouts. A son of leading Turf sire, Kitten's Joy, he has already racked a win at this distance.
$1 WIN  /  $2 PLACE  /  $3 SHOW.

#1 Beach Patrol (Geroux / C. Brown) should go off as the deserved favorite with the highest last out speed number, an eight race progression, and two solid workouts. He should also be the speed of the race controlling the pace on the front end. A son of Lemon Drop Kid, he should make all as he stretches out to this distance.
$1 PLACE  /  $2 SHOW.

#5 Messi [GER] (Bocachica / Motion) should challenge with a couple of good last out speed numbers, a three race progression, and four serious workouts. He could be close to the pace and strike in the stretch. A son of New Approach [IRE], this lad has also secured a victory at this distance from two tries.
$1 SHOW.

Another Wagering Interest

#3 Bigger Picture (Bravo / Maker) should be in the, err, picture as well, with the third highest last out speed number at a longer Turf route and four fine workouts. This lad has earned two wins from four starts at this distance. He could be forwardly placed seeking position for the closing run. A son of Badge of Silver, he shares the highest speed number at this distance.
