Superfecta Sunday in Minnesota, Ehh

Looking for some Turf in the mighty Midwest.

A classy field of eight will step onto the green in this annual affair. It comes up light on speed which should set up for the quickening into the stretch. Speed numbers amongst these gals are very close. Our task is to string together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket.

#3 Gianna's Dream (D. Velazquez / Maker) is coming off an extended layoff, but appears ready to tackle this group. Prior to the layoff she posts the third highest last out speed number and has put in four high quality workouts in preparation. This gal is 100% in the money at this distance. She should be the speed of the race. Our Bronze Horseshoe selection.

#10 Princess Erindelle (Canchari / Robertson) should challenge with the highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and two solid workouts. She relishes the Turf, distance and Canterbury course. Look for her to be among the tracking herd.

#4 Insta Erma (Butler / Mott) will contend with a couple of strong last out speed numbers and three superb workouts. This gal appears to be in good form and will be tracking the pace.

#8 Seeking Treasure (Cotto / Mathews) should be in the mix with the highest speed number at the distance, a two race progression, and three stamina building workouts. She should track and close smoothly through the stretch.

Twilight Stakes Saturday

Evening racing in the shadow of the Twin Spires is on tap for this Stakes Saturday.

Churchill Downs Race 8 {Stephen Foster Handicap~G1~1 1/8 mile~3 year-old Up~Graded Stakes}

A great group of eight will go to the gate in this annual contest. There is plenty of speed to keep a swift pace. Nearly all in here will be firing fresh off of modest layoffs. Speed figs are very close giving this race a tremendously competitive feel. Two millionaires make their appearance against a group who have made significant bank. It should be an exciting race under the lights.

#3 Gun Runner (Geroux / Asmussen) may have the edge with the highest last out speed number at a longer route, an eight race progression, and four stellar peaking workouts. A millionaire son of Candy Ride [ARG], he should be very close to the pace ready to spring forward in the stretch.

#2 Breaking Lucky (Contreras / Baker) should challenge with a couple of excellent last out speed figs and two solid workouts. This guy has the tactical speed to stay the course and pounce. A son of Lookin At Lucky, he holds the highest speed number at the distance.

#8 Stanford (J. Velazquez / Pletcher) will contend with the third highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and four superb peaking workouts. He is the other millionaire in the field. A son of Malibu Moon, he should be forwardly placed seeking edge away from the leaders.

Superfecta Sunday on the Turf

Sweet home Chicago. On this Superfecta Sunday we take in a Turf mile at lovely Arlington International.

Arlington International Race 8 {1 mile~3 year-old Up~Fillies/Mares~Maiden Special Weight}

A good group of ten will hit the grass in this last of the day Turf race. There should be sufficient speed to keep the pace rolling. Those that like to track that pace will need to be closer to get in the money. Speed numbers are all fairly close which should the race a competitive feel. Our task is to knit together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta Box ticket.
It should be a tremendous race.

#5 Summer Sweet (Emigh / Stidham) might have the edge as she runs in her third of her form cycle. She holds the fourth highest speed number over the Turf. This gal stretches out to this distance with two bullet workouts underneath her. She should track closely and strike in the stretch. She is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.
$2 SHOW.

#7 Crafty's Way (Perez / Williamson) should challenge with the highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and three superb peaking workouts. This gal will be dropping in class and distance in effort to make her fifteenth run a maiden breaker. With the right pace she should track and close sweetly.

#1 Mo's MVP (Valdivia / Campbell) will contend as she makes her Turf debut after running second in a longer poly-route last out. She holds the second highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and two fine workouts. This girl should be closing swiftly after the turn.

#10 Elusive Storm (J. Lopez / Correas) is the only first time starter in this group. She is the daughter of Elusive Quality and should relish the Turf surface. Her workout tab is by far the best of the bunch with five exceptional peaking efforts. This gal appears to be ready, willing, and able.

Belmont Stakes Day

A beautiful Stakes Saturday allows us to take a peek at expansive Belmont Park for the third jewel of the Triple Crown, the Belmont Stakes.

Belmont Park Race 11 {BELMONT STAKES~G1~1 1/2 mile~3 year-old~Graded Stakes}

A talented field of eleven will go to the gate in this competitive running of the Belmont Stakes. There is enough speed to create an honest pace. Speed figures are fairly close which allows any of these in here that can get the distance a chance to trot over to the winners circle. Of course all are Triple Crown Nominees, three exiting the Preakness and five exiting the Kentucky Derby. There are three new shooters to make the run. It should be an extremely exciting running of the Belmont.

#7 Irish War Cry (Maragh / Motion) is back in the familiar settings of New York. He holds the second highest speed number over dirt and has put in two strong workouts prepping for the big race. This guy seems to have a good race, bad race pattern going. Luckily, if that holds true, he should be ready for a fine race today. This son of Curlin, should travel close to the pace and get first jump in the stretch.

#2 Tapwrit (J. Ortiz / Pletcher) should challenge as he moves forward in a distance he should enjoy. He holds the fourth highest last out (tie) speed number, a two race progression, and three solid workouts. This lad holds the third highest speed number over the dirt. A son of Tapit, he should be tracking and closing gallantly.
$1 PLACE  /  $2 SHOW.

#4 J Boys Echo (Albarado / Romans) could be sitting on a top race. He holds the highest speed number on the dirt and has put in two dynamite workouts in preparation. This guy should also be part of the tracking and closing crew. A son of Mineshaft, distance will be his best friend today.

#10 Multiplier (Rosario / Walsh) should be in the mix with a couple of very good last out speed numbers, a five race progression, and two superb peaking workouts. This guy is within striking distance of the four highest speed numbers over dirt. A son of The Factor, he is another seeking to catch a swift pace as he readies for the stretch run.

#6 Lookin At Lee (I. Ortiz / Asmussen) is a model of consistency as he finished in the top four in the previous two Triple Crown races. He holds the second highest (tie) last out speed number and two hearty workouts. He should be closing swiftly going into the stretch. A son of Lookin At Lucky, he should acquit himself well at this distance.

Stakes Saturday in Wonderful Pennsylvnia

Hitting the Turf in Pennsylvania on this Stakes Saturday.

Penn National Race 9 {Penn Mile~G2~1 mile~TURF~3 year-old~Graded Stakes}

A great field of nine will hit the green in this annual contest. There is plenty of speed to maintain a rapid pace. Speed numbers are very close creating a highly competitive event. There are four Triple Crown nominees among the group. Top notch trainers and jockeys will compete for the stacks. It should be a superb race on a beautiful day at Penn National.

#7 Big Score (Castellano / Yakteen) ships in to take on this talented crew. he shows the highest (tie) last out speed number, a six race progression, and two fine workouts. He loves the Turf and the distance. A son of Mr. Big, he should take up a tracking position and slice through the stretch.

#4 Cistron (P. Lopez / Sadler) ships in from Santa Anita seeking capture this prestigious race. He shares the highest last out speed number, holds a two race progression, and has put in three dynamic workouts.
