Superfecta Sunday Up North

 We look North for some great stakes action on this Superfecta Sunday.

Woodbine Race 7 {Valedictory Stakes~G3~1 1/2 mile~3 year-old Up~Graded Stakes}

A great group of twelve with experience over the Woodbine Tapeta surface will go to the gate in this significant, graded stakes race.

Past Performances used:  Equibase.

There is sufficient speed to create a strong pace. Speed numbers are fairly close making it competitive. All have traveled over the synthetic and only three will be stretching out to the distance. It should be a fantastic race.

#10 Megayacht (Kimura / Clement) has the tactical speed to keep in contact with the pacesetters, He comes into this race with the third highest last out speed number and two strong peaking workouts. This lad loves the surface, distance, and track. A son of Tonalist, he is 60% in the money from ten career starts.

$2 WIN  /  $3 PLACE  /  $5 SHOW.

#3 Novo Sol [BRZ] (P. Husbands / Joseph) comes into the race with the second highest last out speed number and two hearty workouts. Watch for him to track and close tremendously. This lad is another lover of the surface, distance, and Woodbine track. A son of Agnes Gold [JPN], he is 61% in the money from eighteen career starts.

#6 British Royalty (Stein / Minshall) should improve with a superb workout tab of three high quality works. This guy should track the pace closely, ready to strike. He checks in with the third highest speed number at the distance. A son of English Channel, he is 37% in the money from sixteen career starts.

#12 Who's the Star (Wilson / M. Casse) is the deserved favorite with the highest last out speed number and two sound workouts. He should close gallantly into a swift pace. This lad loves the surface and track. Another son of Tonalist, he is 56% in the money from sixteen career starts.

#9 Collective Force (E. Flores / Halden) has hit the board in his last three races and cobbled together four superb workouts. He also has the tactical speed to fit the pace. This guy relishes this distance. A son of Tiznow, he is 61% in the money from thirteen career starts.

Stakes Saturday on the Florida Dirt

On this Stakes Saturday we take a look at the feature graded stakes race on the dirt in South Florida.

Gulfstream Park Race 5 {Harlan's Holiday~G3~1 1/16 mile~3 year-old Up}

We have a short field of six in this one. Such as it is during the winter meets. There is truly one standout in the race, Audible, and relative parity among the rest as they battle for the remaining purse pie. Among the battlers, the speed figs are fairly close giving it a really competitive feel for these lads to hit the board. In a change to our favored exotic wager we will make an effort with the Trifecta.

#1 Audible (Castellano / Pletcher) is the one to beat. This year's Florida Derby winner (3rd in the Kentucky Derby), appears to be in fine form. He won last out earning the highest speed fig among this group and has put in three superb peaking workouts. This millionaire son of Into Mischief is undefeated at the distance and over the Gulfstream Park track. We will make a token win bet on this champion.
$1 WIN.

#4 Village King [ARG] (J. Velazquez / Pletcher) is in great form and should be part of the pace scenario. This guy holds the second highest last out speed number at a longer route and one stout workout. A son of Campanologist, he comes in from the NYRA racing circuit.
$1 SHOW.

#6 Sir Anthony (B. Hernandez / Mitchell) comes in from the Chicago racing circuit with three wins in a row including the Bruce D. on Arlington Million Day. He holds the third highest speed number at the distance and one solid workout. This son of Mineshaft should be closing swiftly with the right pace in front of him.
$2 SHOW.

#3 Sightforsoreeyes (Jimenez / Quartarolo) comes in from the Kentucky racing circuit with the second highest speed number at the distance and two tough workouts. A son of Sightseeing, he should also be part of the pace scenario. Look for him to put his tactical speed to good use.

50 CENT Trifecta

#1 Audible  /  #4 Village King [ARG], #6 Sir Anthony  /  #4, #6, #3 Sightforsoreeyes.

Up North for Superfecta Sunday

We hit the synth up North in frosty Canada for our Superfecta Sunday.

Woodbine Race 8 {Valedictory~G3~1 3/4 mile~3 year-old Up~Graded Stakes}

A fine field of nine will hit the Tapeta in this annual contest. Lacking in any dominating speed, the race could come down to positioning as the quickening begins. Speed figs are fairly close although four have yet to run this longer distance. Our task is to select the right mix to conquer the 20 CENT Superfecta. It could be the best race of the day.

#7 Melmich (Contreras / K. Attard) looks to be the winner in this one sporting the highest speed number at this distance. He holds the second highest (4-way tie) last out speed number and two sound workouts. Proven at the distance, this millionaire son of Wilko should be tracking ready for the race to the wire.

#5 A A Azula's Arch (Moreno / K. Attard) is the lone filly in the race. She shares the second highest last out speed number and has put in two stout workouts. A daughter of Arch, distance should not be a problem. This gal loves the surface and the Woodbine track. She is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.
$1 SHOW.

#4 Vintage Matters (Wilson / Dickenson) will be moving from Turf to synthetic and stretching out to this distance. He is another sharing that second highest last out speed number and has turned three high quality peaking workouts. A son of Tapit, he should be tracking and closing vigorously.

#9 Pumpkin Rumble (Da Silva / K. Attard) could go off as the favorite following two straight wins. He holds the highest last out speed number and two strong workouts. He appears to be in the best form of the bunch. A son of English Channel he is another that will track whatever pace develops and battle in the stretch.

20 CENT Superfecta Box ($4.80)

#7 Melmich  +  #5 A A Azula's Arch  +  #4 Vintage Matters  +  #9 Pumpkin Rumble.
