Superfecta Sunday at Lovely Santa Anita

We close out our horse racing weekend with a great Turf race on this Superfecta Sunday.

Santa Anita Race 7 {John Henry Turf Classic~G2~1 1/4 mile~TURF~3 year old Up~Graded Stakes}
An excellent field of ten will compete in this Turf classic event.  All of these guys are coming into this fresh from roughly thirty days off.  The workout tab during those approximate thirty days off is exceptional for all of these fellas.  Their speed numbers are comparably close, which should make for a highly competitive race. We must try to cobble together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket.

#9 Irish Surf (Trujillo / Hendricks) may be best positioned for victory coming off the Pacific Classic at Del Mar. He holds the highest last out speed number, a four race progression, and four superb peaking workouts. This lad should be tracking and closing well.

#1 Big John B (Smith / D'Amato) should show favoritism with the second highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and three robust workouts. He has already notched a win at this distance and will be closing capably in the stretch. This guy will be seeking his fourth win in a row.

#10 Finnegans Wake (Talamo / P. Miller) is coming out of a fifth place finish in the Arlington Million. He holds the third highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and three athletic workouts. This lad has a versatile running style that can fit the pace. He is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.

#5 Unbridled Command (Pereira / P. Miller) is yearning to come back into great form with a couple of decent last out speed numbers, and three exceptional peaking workouts. He holds a victory at this distance from one start, which has given him the fourth highest speed number at this distance among this group. He should track and close mightily.

Stakes Saturday at Bountiful Belmont

On a beautiful Autumn day we look at a fabulous Turf race from New York, USA. Hooray for Stakes Saturday.

Belmont Park Race 7 {Flower Bowl Invitational~G1~1 1/4 mile~TURF~3 year old Up~fillies/mares~Graded Stakes}
A top of the line field of nine gals will take to the Belmont grass in this annual graded stakes event.  Most in here are coming off a brief freshening.  They should be rested and ready. The speed figs for these gals are very close and should result in a highly competitive event.  There is a lone speed, Viva Rafaela [BRZ], who will be very dangerous if left loose on the lead. A magnificent quickening is likely to occur among the remaining participants. This should be a great Stakes Saturday race.

#9 Stephanies Kitten (J. Velazquez / C. Brown) might have the overall advantage with the third highest (tie) last out speed number and four serious workouts during a thirty day freshening. This daughter of Kitten's Joy appears to be in fine form. She should be part of the closing contingent going into the stretch.

Furlong Friday at Santa Anita

On to a great downhill Turf race in California on this Friday.

A solid group of eleven will go to the Santa Anita hill in this annual affair. Plenty of speedy types should keep the pace rolling down the hill. Almost all have competed well in previous tries down the Turf hill. It should be a fantastic race.

#6 Unbridled's Note (Nakatani / Asmussen) should have a slight edge with a couple of good last out speed numbers and four sturdy peaking workouts. He holds the highest speed number at this distance and will be closing mightily into the stretch.

An Erie Start to Our Horse Racing Weekend

We look in on Erie, Pennsylvania for the start of our Horse Racing weekend.

Presque Isle Downs Race 4 {Fitz Dixon, Jr. Memorial Stakes~6 1/2 furlongs~2 year old~Stakes}
A very nice field of twelve will go to the gate in this feature stakes race. There is plenty of speed to get this race cruising. These youngsters all have fairly close speed figs which should make for a super competitive race.

#4 Bourbon Cowboy (Feliciano / R. Scherer) has the edge with the highest last out speed number at a slightly longer sprint, a three race progression, and two superb peaking workouts. This lad has not yet gone this unique distance, but has raced well in his three career starts.

#8 Seraph (E. Rodriguez / Cox) should challenge with the second highest last out speed number at a longer sprint, a two race progression, and two robust workouts. He is coming off a sixth place finish in a grade three race. He should close swiftly.

As our horse racing weekend comes to a close, we examine a nice Turf mile in Kentucky.

A great crop of ten will take to the Kentucky grass in this claiming feature.  There is enough speedy types in here to present the possibility of a pace boil over. All of the speed numbers are fairly close. Our task is to put together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket.

#2 Chisled (A. Garcia / Proctor) has a clear shot in this one with the third highest (tie) last out speed number, a two race progression, and four superb workouts. He is 100% in the money at this distance. This lad should follow the pace closely and pounce into the stretch. He is our Bronze Horseshoe runner on a pleasant Sunday afternoon.

Stakes Saturday in the Parx

Today is Pennsylvania Derby day.  However we will look at a fantastic race on the under-card.

Parx Race 11 {Cotillion~G1~1 1/16 mile~3 year old~fillies~Graded Stakes}
A fabulous group of nine ladies will take to the dirt in this graded stakes race.  There is enough speed and forwardly placed types to set an honest pace. Most in here have closely matched speed numbers. It should be one of the highlights of PA Derby day.

#8 Untapable (Napravnik / Asmussen) looks primed and ready to take this one. She holds the highest last out speed number at a longer route and has put in three tremendous peaking workouts. This daughter of Tapit posts the highest speed fig at the distance. She should be close to the pace ready to spring into the stretch.

Furlong Friday in California

Another Friday rolls in.  We take a peek at a nice furlong race at a little race track that could.

Los Alamitos Race 4 {5 1/2 furlongs~2 year old~fillies~CA~Maiden Special Weight}
A great group of young fillies will take to the track in this Maiden Special Weight feature. As there are three first time starters in the race there is no telling which may wish to take the lead. Only one other gal appears to like forward placement. It should be a fun race as all of these youngsters begin their racing careers.

#3 South Texas (Antongeorgi / Pederson) looks the most promising with the highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and one sound workout. She should track and close into the pace swiftly in her third start.
$2 SHOW.

#5 Party Rock (Desormeaux / Baffert) should challenge in her first career start. She has put in three tremendous workouts in preparation.  This daughter of Good Journey is conditioned by legendary trainer, Bob Baffert, who wins with 25% of his two year old charges.

Horse Racing Weekend Begins at Belmont

Our horse racing weekend begins at wonderful Belmont Park.  On this Thursday, we take a look at a pleasurable route race.

Belmont Park Race 8 {1 1/16 mile~3 year old Up~Optional Claiming}
A pleasant group of nine will take to the Belmont dirt in this afternoon feature.  There is enough forwardly placed types to keep a rollicking pace on.  With respect to speed figs, the field is relatively close. It should be an interesting race.

#2 Sinistra (J. Velazquez / Grunsmark) looks to carry his form forward in this clash with the second highest last out speed number and two solid peaking workouts. He holds a very good in the money record of 87% at the distance. He could be forwardly placed ready to strike in the stretch.

#5 Escapefromreality (Castellano / Schettino) is in good form as well and should be able to challenge. He holds the highest last out speed number, a five race progression, and two mighty bullet workouts. This lad can be expected to be the controlling speed of the race.

On this superb Superfecta Sunday we look at fantastic Turf Mile North of the Border.

Superfecta Sunday Turf along the Jersey Shore

On this sunny Superfecta Sunday we go to the Jersey Shore for a little Turf.

Monmouth Park Race 8 {1 3/8 mile~TURF~3 year old Up~Starter Handicap}
A good field of nine will take to the grass in this afternoon feature.  It comes up a little light on speed with two in here that may take charge by default.  The speed numbers are closely comparable over the Turf, but only a few have gone the distance.  Our task is to create a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket.  It should be an exciting race.

#7 Grand Rapport (Lopez / Jacobson) could have the edge with his very versatile running style, the second highest last out speed number and one peaking workout. This lad is 84% in the money on the Turf and has a victory over the Monmouth Turf.

#3 Dancing Lounge (Carmouche / Servis) should challenge with the fourth highest last out speed number and three endurance producing, yet peaking workouts. He should be able to track the pace and strike in the stretch. This lad will be firing fresh after a brief layoff. He is our Bronze Horseshoe runner.
$2 SHOW.

#9 Skiffs Brewmaster (McCarthy / O'Connell) should be up to the task with the highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and one strong workout. He should be able to close fluidly into a solid pace. This guy is one of three that have traveled this distance.

#4 Hello Abraxon (Pimental / Sharp) should contend while stretching out to a little bit longer route.  He holds the third highest last out speed number, a two race progression and two robust workouts. This lad has the potential to take the lead and wire the field.

Churchill Downs R8.  Locust Grove Stakes.  Our first pick, Don't Tell Sophia, won (1st) for win money of $6.20 and show money of $3.90.  Our second pick, On Fire Baby, finished 6th (last).  Our third pick, Molly Morgan, finished 2nd for show money of $2.60.
Superfecta went 6-7-4-5.
Bankroll gets an uptick to $40.24.

Stakes Saturday at Churchill

We celebrate our Stakes Saturday by looking at a good dirt route down Louisville, Kentucky.

Churchill Downs Race 8 {Locust Grove~1 1/16 mile~3 year old Up~fillies/mares~Stakes}
A superb group of seven will take to the track in this annual feature. Speed come up a little bit light which might be to the forwardly placed advantage. The speed figs seem to be relatively close with a number in here capable of taking a step forward. All but one are coming out of a graded stakes.  It should be a highly competitive race.

#6 Don't Tell Sophia (Rocco / Sims) could have a slight edge if the pace becomes quick.  She holds the highest last out speed number, a four race progression, and three super strong workouts.  This daughter of Congaree comes into this one after five months rest.  This gal sports a 100% in the money record at the distance.

#3 On Fire Baby (Johnson / Hartlage) should be the speed that dictates the terms of the pace.  She holds the highest speed number at the distance, a couple of good last out speed numbers and three supreme workouts.  This daughter of Smoke Glacken is coming off a little longer route.  She relishes the Churchill course.

#7 Molly Morgan (Lanerie / Romans) will challenge with the second highest (tie) last out speed number, a two race progression, and two solid workouts.  This daughter of Ghostzapper has demonstrated she loves the Churchill track. This gal should be tracking the pace looking for an opening.

#2 Tapit's World (Landeros / McPeek) should be in the mix sharing the second highest speed number, a two race progression, and two splendid workouts. She should be forwardly placed to get first jump on the leader.  This daughter of, you guessed it, Tapit is another that is 100% in the money at the distance, accomplished in four starts.

#5 Ria Antonia (Rosario / Amoss) should contend with a couple of decent last out speed numbers and two robust workouts.  This daughter of Rockport Harbor should be able to track and close with precision. She is a millionaire which is nothing to write off.

Furlong Friday at Arlington International

A warm and friendly Furlong Friday to get charging into the weekend. Today we look at a sprint race at magnificent Arlington International.

Arlington International Race 2 {6 furlongs~3 year old Up~IL~Claiming}
A solid group of eight will hit the poly in this early race.  There is plenty of speed and forwardly placed types to keep a strong pace.  Most in here are fairly close in terms of speed numbers.  It should be a good race.

#8 Toews (Baird / P. Miller) should have the advantage with the highest last out speed number at a slightly longer sprint, a four race progression, and one solid workout. He should be close to the pace ready to strike at the top of the stretch.
$2 SHOW.

#7 Plains Warrior (Graham / Kirby) should challenge with the second highest (3-way tie) last out speed number, a two race progression, and two sound workouts. This lad should be forwardly placed seeking to break from the front end pack.

#1 Bullet Bob (Geroux / Catalano) should contend sharing the second highest last out speed number and working a two race progression. He has a positive in the money record of 57% over the Arlington poly from seven starts.

#5 Grudge Match (Emigh / McCanick) is coming off nearly a year off from the races.  He does hold the second highest speed number at the distance and has put in four masterful peaking workouts. This lad should be tracking the pace ready to move smoothly into the stretch.

Late night Racing at Remmington Park

To start our horse racing weekend we take a look at a nice dirt mile down in Oklahoma City.

Remmington Park Race 6 {1 mile~3 year old Up~fillies/mares~Allowance}
A good group of nine will go to the gate in this late night feature.  There is enough speed to keep a swift pace.  Most in here have reasonably close speed numbers.  It should be a terrific race.

#5 Cowgirl in Love (Wade / Milligan) looks well rested and ready to move forward. With the third highest (tie) last out speed number and three robust workouts, she has a decent chance to track the pace for a victory.

#1 Ghost Locket (Laviolette / D. Von Hemel) should challenge with the highest last out speed number at a longer route and two strong workouts. She should be forwardly placed ready to rock.

#4 True Yolo (Birzer / Hall) will be stretching out sharing the third highest last out speed number and putting in one solid workout. She holds a 77% in the money record from nine starts. Look for her to be tracking the pace very closely.

#7 Flosy has Attitude (Loveberry / Bawman ) should be in the mix with the second highest last out speed number prior to a fifty-four day layoff. She holds the second highest speed number at the distance.

#8 Zanelli (Vazquez / Asmussen) could surprise with a couple of o.k. last out speed numbers that yield victories, a three race progression, and four significant workouts.  She should be firing fresh after a 101 day layoff.
