Going Long on the TURF at the "Spa"

 We journey to the "Spa" for a competitive Turf marathon on this Superfecta Sunday.

Saratoga Race 8 {Glens Falls Stakes~G2~1 1/2 mile~4 year-old Up~Fillies/Mares~Graded Stakes}

A reduced field of nine will hit the green in this annual event. Though the field size is not optimal for a Superfecta player, it appears it will a contentious race.

Past Performances used:  Equibase.

The nine lads in this race are serious, experienced Turfers. There is sufficient speed to produce an honest pace. Speed numbers are fairly close. Only two will stretch out to this distance. Five will try the Saratoga course for the first time. Interestingly, all but two are foreign born horses. It should be a fantastic wagering event.

#6 Survie [IRE] (Prat / Boughey) comes in after racing in Great Britain. She placed sixth in her last at Ascot and has one published workout in preparation. This girl holds a win at the distance over in France. She should take up a tracking position and quicken into the stretch. A daughter of Churchill [IRE], she is 66% in the money from eighteen starts.

$2 WIN  /  $3 PLACE  /  $5 SHOW.

#4 Favorite Memory [GB] (J. Ortiz / DeVaux) is another tracker that will contend in the stretch. She holds the third highest last out speed number and three hearty workouts. This filly has two wins from four tries at the distance. A daughter of Frankel [GB], she is 50% in the money from eight starts.

#9 Gezora [FR] (J. Alvarado / W. Mott) is the deserved morning line favorite with highest speed number over the Turf and two robust workouts. She is yet another that will take up in the tracker pack. A millionaire daughter of Almanzor [FR], she is 75% in the money from twelve starts.

#10 Dona Clota [CHI] (Castellano / S.A. Joseph) should be forwardly placed off the speed. She holds the highest (3-way tie) last out speed number and two solid workouts. She loves the Turf and distance. A daughter of Ivan Denisovich [IRE], she is 58% in the money from seventeen starts.

Other Wagering Interests

#2 Venencia [FR] (M. Husbands / S.A. Joseph) comes in with the second highest last out speed number and two swift peaking workouts. She will be tracking the pace closely seeking to get first jump on the tracker pack. This gal relishes the turf and distance. A daughter of Recoletes [FR], she is 52% in the money from nineteen starts.

#1 Alluring Angel [GB] (Carmouche / W. Mott) shares the highest last out speed number and has cobbled together three consistent workouts. She will track the pace closely. She does enjoy the Turf. A daughter of Fastnet Rock [AUS], she is 50% in the money from sixteen starts.

Stakes Saturday on Turf

The lull after the 2015 Breeder's Cup Championships does have a few great stakes races. On this Stakes Saturday we look at a classic Turf distance for the ladies.

Aqueduct Race 8 {Long Island Handicap~G3~1 1/2 mile~TURF~3 year-old Up~fillies/mares~Graded Stakes}

An extremely talented bunch of gals will hit the grass in this feature race. There is enough speed to keep an honest pace. Many in here will be stretching out to this classic distance for the first time. The speed numbers are relatively close with many on the improvement arc.
It should be one of the best races of the day.

#8 Mutalis Mutandis [IRE] (J. Velazquez / Walker) will be making her second North American start after successfully racing across the pond. She holds the fourth highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and three strong workouts. This daughter of Mastercraftsman [IRE] should be tracking the pace closely ready to strike.
$1 WIN  /  $2 PLACE  /  $3 SHOW.

#5 Gotachancetodance (L. Saez / Pletcher) should challenge as she stretches out to this distance. She holds two good last out speed numbers, a six race progression, and two solid workouts. This gal continues to improve with each effort and should continue that trend. A daughter of English Channel, she is another that will be tracking the pace ready to roll.
$1 PLACE  /  $2 SHOW.

#3 Danza Cavallo [FR] (J. Ortiz / C. Brown) could go off as the favorite with the second highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and three robust workouts. She has an 83% in the money record at this distance from six starts. This daughter of Sunday Break [JPN] should be forwardly placed for a first jump on the field.
$1 SHOW.

Another Wagering Interest

#10 Walk Close (Franco / Clement) is one that should contend with the third highest last out speed number, a five race progression, and four significant workouts. She is coming off a modest workout having last been seen winning the Modesty at Arlington International. This daughter of Tapit will be tracking and closing gracefully.

Superfecta Sunday in Sunny Southern Cal

Superfecta Sunday already?!  Today we take a look at a classic Turf race in warm and sunny Southern California.

Santa Anita Race 3 {1 1/4 mile~TURF~3 year-old Up~Optional Claiming}

A fine field of seven will go to the grass in this classic Turf offering. It comes up light on speed which may produce a wicked quickening going into the stretch.  The speed numbers are very close making this one a very competitive event. Our task is to cobble together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta Box ticket. Let's give it a spin.

#1 Alcott [NZ] (Fallon / Powell) comes from overseas for his first North American debut. He last raced in China with sound success. This lad is coming into this one off an extended layoff with four strong workouts. He appears to have acclimated well to sunny Southern California. He is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.
$2 SHOW.

#7 Crucero (Desormeaux / Desormeaux) should challenge with the second highest speed number at the distance, a couple of good last out speed numbers and two solid workouts. This guy loves the Santa Anita Turf and should be tracking the pace well.

#5 Wanstead Gardens (Stevens / French) should go off as the favorite with the highest last out speed number, a four race progression, and five tremendous peaking workouts. This Ontario bred will be tracking the pace and close gallantly.

#4 Son of War (Blanc / McAnally) is coming into sound form with the second highest last out speed number and three superb peaking workouts. This guy also shares the highest speed number over the Santa Anita turf. He is another that will be tracking the pace.

10 CENT Superfecta Box ($2.40)
